Blaine breathes deep as he follows behind Kurt into the crowded bar, hands shoved deep into his jeans pockets, curls loose over his eyes, and head bowed. The past few weeks since he and Sebastian kissed have been nothing less than exhausting, and he has been struggling to keep it together.
For starters, he hasn’t heard from his friend (more than friend?) since that day. He considered texting or calling Sebastian a few times but every time he moved to do so, a wave of guilt washed over him, keeping him wallowing silence. He had been hoping that one day Sebastian might be the one to take the leap and reach out, but as of today there has been no luck.
Life with Kurt has been less than cordial, as well. Blaine knows breaking up with Kurt is something he should do, not for Sebastian but for himself, because their relationship was already rocky enough before Sebastian kissed him. But his fear of the unknown, his fear that he has been wasting so much of his life, keeps him from going through with it.
Which is how he ended up here, dragged along to a bar he doesn’t want to be at for Kurt’s random attempt at actually being his boyfriend. And as he takes a seat beside the other man at the bar top, he decides that he would much rather be anywhere else.
So they’re not dating yet in so many words...but it’s something. It’s everything if you ask Jackson. It’s so much more than he thought he’d be able to have--with Spencer anyways. Actually, if he’s being honest, he’s only wanted these things with Spencer.
All these other guys who have been in and out of his life, he’s wanted nothing more than a good blowjob and maybe getting food together. He does have a decent amount of guy friends. But he’s never wanted a relationship since that night; he’s never wanted touched like that, since that night. Distance had been better, he didn’t get hurt that way.
Except then came Spencer, with his soft words and gentle touch and fucked up sensne of being and that’s all it took.
Spencer wanting to try to be something more is all it took for Jackson to want something more.
Amazing how that works.
They’re exclusive, anyways, as far as Jax can tell and maybe that’ll be the steps they need to keep going. Public is a no-go and they’re not using terms that fit them into any boxes but. Jackson can kiss Spencer and they can hold one another and they’re moving towards more....deeper, intimate things that tells Jackson it’s only a matter of time.
They’ll get there. They just need to take their time.
He unlocks his front door and pockets his keys, frowning as he hears his mother screaming: “That’s not what we discussed!” as he closes the front door.
His father (of course it’s his father) screams back: “I don’t need your permission!”
Jackson knows he should just turn around and leave, that he’s meeting Spencer in ten minutes for dinner but...he can’t just leave his mom to his father. And he needs to grab fabric from his bedroom for a skirt he’s making at an internship. Fuck.
He quickly gets his phone out and sends a text to Spencer: “If I’m more than ten minutes late, I need you to come to my house. My dad is home”.
Just in case-- Spencer has always been his safety blanket.
“What’s going on?” He asks as he leans against the kitchen doorway.
They both look startled to see him, his mother has been crying.
“I’m selling the house.” His father states; eyes black. He’s been drinking.
Jackson glances at his mother and clears his throat. “You can’t do that. This is mom’s house too.”
“Piss off, faggot. You don’t live here anymore. You’re lucky I haven’t thrown your shit out on the sidewalk.”
It had been a week since she had last seen Octavia. There had been a text or two exchanged between the two of them, but that was it. Nothing more. And each day that passed with no contact made Raven’s heart sink just a little bit more.
And then Friday came around and it was the day of the group gathering at the drive-in. Admittedly, Raven was pretty excited- both of the back to back movies were ones that she had been wanting to see, and even more so she would get to see Octavia.
Even if it was bound to be one of the most awkward moments of their friendship. How did you curl up in the back of a truck with the girl that just a week ago saw you in the most intimate way possible? How did you curl up in the back of a truck with the girl who had acted as though nothing of significance had happened between them?
It wasn’t going to be easy, that was for sure.
But she would do it. She would do it because she couldn’t bear the thought of losing Octavia.
Raven tried her best to bury what she was feeling as she grabbed her grey windbreaker and put it on. It wasn’t cool outside, but for some reason she felt the need to have something more than the tank top she chose to wear on.
She arrived at the park before Octavia, having hitched a ride with Clarke and Lexa, and was currently getting curious looks from Clarke. She raised her eyebrows, and the look she received told her that Clarke knew that something was up.
Staring down at her laptop, Hannah finally decided that she was done watching movies for the rest of her Sunday. She shut her laptop, getting off her bed before setting her laptop down on her desk. The blonde quickly changed into a white tank top, dark denim shorts, and a pair of black vans. She grabbed her bag, slinging it onto her shoulder before tossing her phone and dorm room key into the bag. She quickly put on some make up - mascara, some eye liner, lip gloss, and a tinted moisturizer - before heading out and locking her door behind her.
Hannah wasn't really sure what she wanted to do but after a few moments of debating, she headed out of her building and towards Starbucks. It wasn't very late at night and she still needed to go over and help Bella unpack her clothes so she figured that she'd go and grab some coffee or something before she went over. After arriving at Starbucks, Hannah decided on ordering Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino and a blueberry scone.
Once she had her order, Hannah walked over to one of the empty tables and set her drink and scone down. She hung her purse onto the side of her chair closest to the window before pulling out a notebook and pen - deciding that she might as well make a list of everything she had to get done before classes started. The bell signaling that someone had came into the coffee shop caught her attention, head snapping up to see who had came in.
SUMMARY: Blaine goes on a date with Julie, Kurt's co-worker, in order to make her switch shifts with him. That would allow the couple to spend their own personal weekend together. Kurt and Holly decide to secretly be there too. It sounds like a good idea until the dinner ends up taxing Blaine's and Kurt's patience.
Tuesdays.
It would all be worth it, to have their Tuesdays. They’d said that, time and time again, and Kurt knew that Blaine had no interest whatsoever in Julie, but the fact of the matter was, he was still going out on a ‘date’ with her. And Kurt didn’t like to share.
But Tuesdays.
They already had Mondays. But some things were just better together. Peanut butter and chocolate. Rodgers and Hammerstein. Coffee and cheesecake. Cinderella and Prince Charming. Mondays and Tuesdays. Kurt and Blaine.
So they could get through this. One evening. A couple of hours. And with plans to meet in the restroom between the main course and dessert, it couldn’t be that bad.
Kurt watched Blaine get ready, wishing for the first time ever that his boyfriend wasn’t so damn attractive, because no matter how hideous the outfit was, nothing could distract from that face, those eyes, that smile.
“I knew I should’ve stapled her to the desk.” Kurt muttered under his breath, sliding his arms into his own jacket. Dinner with Holly was bound to be an adventure. That was one part of the evening Kurt was actually looking forward to (besides his secret men’s room rendezvous, of course).
The plan was for Blaine to drop off Kurt and Holly and then go to pick up Julie, because if Julie found out about their plan she would undoubtedly renege on her promise to give Kurt Tuesdays. And they needed Tuesdays.
Holly was waiting politely outside the car while Kurt said goodbye to Blaine, and though she was facing the other way, they both knew she was going to watch them kiss anyway. So Kurt put on a good show for her, coming almost entirely out of his seat, hands tangling in the back of Blaine’s carefully styled hair, pulling some of the curls loose, sliding his tongue against Blaine’s, moaning softly into his open mouth, kissing him breathless.
Pulling back to admire his handiwork, Kurt couldn’t help but grin. Anyone looking at Blaine would know exactly just how thoroughly he’d been kissed. “That’s just a taste of what’s to come.” Kurt whispered devilishly.
Kurt was half-way out of the car when he turned and leaned back in quickly, giving Blaine one last peck. “I’d say have fun, but I really don’t want you to. I’ll see you soon, Blaine. Bye. I love you.”
The car door was already shut before Kurt realized what he’d just said. He hadn’t meant to. It had just slipped out. Kurt stood there with wide, horrified eyes, watching as Blaine drove away. He’d probably just ruined the best thing in his entire life because of three little words he hadn’t been able to keep locked inside until the proper moment.
It wasn’t as if Kurt didn’t feel that way. He’d been biting back those words for some time now. A set of keys and a drawer were one thing. I love yous were what universally frightened men away. Especially when they were said so soon after starting a relationship.
And now Blaine was gone to pick up his pseudo-date and Kurt couldn’t even talk to him until much later. What would he say at this point, anyway? “I didn’t mean that”? Taking back an ‘I love you’ was infinitely worse than saying it in the first place. And the truth was that Kurt wasn’t all that sorry. He wished he’d picked a more opportune setting, over a candlelit dinner, or after lovemaking, and he definitely wished that it hadn’t come so soon, but he couldn’t really be sorry because he did love Blaine.
That was what terrified him. Kurt loved Blaine. He loved him. And then he’d gone and done something so stupid in telling him and that was it. “Thanks for a good time, Kurt but I think I’ll just keep my distance.”
Closing his eyes, Kurt turned to Holly. They were here now, he might as well pay for her dinner. He’d never be able to eat - his stomach was too tied up in knots, but Holly had agreed to do them this favor, and it was the least Kurt could do. Maybe he’d buy an entire cheesecake to take home. Cheesecake solved everything.

"You seem distant."
"Huh?" Blaine looked up and found Julie's hand way too close to his own. He pulled back quickly, covering the movement up by grabbing his glass of coke – no alcohol, he had promised – and taking a sip while his other hand fumbled with the soft cloth napkin in front of him. The restaurant was nice and Blaine appreciated every menu that didn't try to sell salmon Carpaccio. It was a beef thing. It should stay a beef thing. He was rambling even in his own mind. "I'm sorry, I was… elsewhere."
Elsewhere.
A shy smile tugged on his lips because 'elsewhere' was the understatement of the century. Kurt loved him. Kurt had told him that he loved him. And Blaine was sitting here in a nice restaurant with heavenly good Carpaccio that wasn't even salmon but real beef and across from him was a woman he couldn't stand. Meanwhile the man who loved him had to watch this and every second became more of a torture for Blaine because the I-love-you-too-so-so-much was boiling inside of him, it tickled his heart and made him want to stand up and kiss Kurt and lift him up and show him that those three words were the best he had ever heard.
Blaine should have said it back. He should have said it back right away but it had happened so fast and Holly had been there and the traffic had been a horror and Blaine had just pulled driven away. It had been a moment between one glimpse of an eye and another. Blaine was almost sure it was a slip but one that changed everything. They had been a couple that was falling in love and now they were two people who loved each other only that Kurt didn't know that. Blaine had to loosen his tie a little and Julie frowned.
"I really enjoy this with you, Blaine." Her voice was too nasal, her eyes were too light. She wasn't Kurt.
"Hm? Yes, it's nice."
It was true what they said. Some things only became real after you say them out loud. Kurt loved him.
"We should do this more often, don't you think? Or we could go to the movies."
Blaine stared at Julie for a moment and looked down at the half eaten salmon steak in front of him. He liked salmon, it just shouldn't be sold as Carpaccio. "Would you excuse me for a second, please?"
He had to see Kurt, he had to see Kurt and he had to tell him that he loved him back. No, not back. Blaine didn't love Kurt back. He loved towards him. They both loved, no back and forth, just a middle ground where it was only them.
He was pacing until he heard the door of the bathroom open and as soon as he looked up and saw that it was Kurt, Blaine crossed the room and pressed his boyfriend against the wall. His lips were on Kurt's before he could even think, their teeth were clicking but he hadn't been harsh and eager enough to make it hurt so he didn't have to pull back, thank god, because he loved this man, he didn't want to pull back, ever. Blaine's heart was racing and so was his mind. His hand wandered up and cupped Kurt's face as he deepened the kiss.
Love. By the time he pulled back he was panting and he was about to say it. I-love-you-too-so-so-much. But then he saw the clean but cold bathroom stalls and a piece of paper towel that someone just left next to the sink of throwing it away. The floor was a little wet and chances were good someone would come in any second. Blaine whimpered slightly and bit his tongue. This wasn't right. Not for what he needed Kurt to understand. He looked into the perfect blue eyes of this perfect man and realized that perfection seemed to be their thing.
"I…" He couldn't say it. Not here. Not now. Later. "She fixed my hair." Blaine was surprised how choked up and miserable he sounded. "When I picked her up she fixed my hair."
He leaned forward and blew a soft kiss on Kurt's neck. "Can you get us a bottle of champagne? For later? I need to get this woman out of my head."
*
Kurt bit his lower lip, his mouth still tasting like Blaine, and nodded. Swallowing against the lump in his throat, he forced words out of his mouth. “Champagne. Sure.”
He’d barely been able to eat, had just pushed the food around his plate with his fork, forcing himself to smile at Holly’s jokes and basically being the worst ever date in the history of dates. The meal dragged on and Julie looked like she was having entirely too much fun, and Kurt could only watch, and try not to stare, especially at Blaine, who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.
Kurt wasn’t even sure meeting in the men’s room was still a good idea. What if Blaine didn’t even show up? Or worse, what if he did show up only to break things off? Kurt knew he was just prolonging the inevitable, and in the end it was Holly’s swift kick to his shin that broke his reverie.
“Will you just go and see him?” she hissed, taking a long sip of her wine, “You’re behaving like a child. He loves you too, god, anyone with eyes can see that. Go.”
Kurt shot her a skeptical look, but couldn’t help the little flutter of hope that had sprung in his chest. What if...? Maybe Blaine did love him. Maybe Kurt was making a big deal out of nothing. Mountains out of molehills. It was possible, wasn’t it?
And so he had practically flown to the restroom, and Blaine was there and he was kissing him and Kurt had let himself be buoyed by the thought that it was more than just possible, it was a sure thing, and Blaine had opened his mouth to say something and Kurt was staring at him expectantly and his heart was about to beat out of his chest from happiness but then...
“She fixed my hair.”
So that was it. Julie fixed his hair and Blaine wanted champagne. But he didn’t love Kurt. Maybe he hadn’t heard him in the first place, or maybe he was just going to ignore it, it didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was that he didn’t say it back.
Blinking back tears of embarrassment and disappointment, Kurt forced a smile that he definitely didn’t feel and agreed to get the champagne. He was going to need a lot more than that to numb his hurt feelings, but it would be a good start.
Arriving back at the table, Kurt shook his head in response to Holly’s questioning gaze. “Just...don’t. Please.”
Casting his eyes towards Blaine and Julie once more, Kurt wondered what he was going to do. On one hand, Blaine hadn’t run away, so there was always the possibility that maybe, eventually, he could learn to love Kurt. Then again, if he didn’t feel the same way now, that would be incredibly difficult for Kurt and maybe it was better to just end things before Kurt could fall any deeper.
He really didn’t know what to do and it was killing him. Julie’s laugh was loud enough to carry over to their table, and Kurt watched with a sickening feeling as she tried to feed him a bite of her dessert.
It wasn’t that Blaine loved Julie, or that he even liked her. It was that Blaine didn’t love Kurt.
Maybe he should just forget the champagne. He could text Blaine right now and tell him not to bother, that he should just go back to his own apartment after dinner. Funny how Kurt’s apartment had become ‘home’. Blaine hadn’t even moved in and yet they both referred to it that way. How would it feel to not be able to wake up to Blaine’s reassuring warmth almost every day? Or to make coffee just for himself? To not have Blaine to snuggle up to while watching tv or kiss during commercials?
Those thoughts were simply too painful to deal with. In the end, that was what made Kurt’s decision for him. Blaine wanted champagne, so champagne he would have. And if he didn’t love Kurt, or if he wanted to pretend Kurt’s slip up hadn’t happened, Kurt would let him. Selfish or not, he loved Blaine, loved him too much to let him out of his life.
“Excuse me,” he said, snagging the attention of the passing waiter, “Would it be possible to get a bottle of Tattinger to go?”
He smiled again at Holly, and while it still didn’t feel natural, it was better than before. At least he still had Blaine...
*
The look on Kurt's eyes was worse than anything he had ever seen. Seeing Kurt happy with someone else had been hard, but it was nothing compared to see him like this. When they were both ready to get out of the restroom, Blaine was tempted to take Kurt's hand and pull him back, tell him what clearly stood between the right now. But he didn't. Instead he went back to Julie's table, not their table because it wasn't Blaine's, it was hers, his was in his back and Kurt was sitting there.
He swallowed down his dessert and tried to be polite. He smiled not as often as he would have if Kurt hadn't asked him not to. Not as often as he would have if he didn't desperately want to get away from here and kiss the man he had just hurt by waiting for the right moment. He shook his head for a brief second because they had been there already and now the roles were reversed. Julie looked at him and Blaine realized that he was on a date.
"Have you ever met a person that just feels right?"
Julie straightened up and smiled. "Yes."
Blaine didn't even notice. "Me too. It's really great."
She reached for his hand again and this time Blaine was too wrapped up in his own thoughts to react so he just stared at their hands for a moment and frowned before he squeezed back. It wasn't fair and he would have given a lot to tell her that he was in love with someone and that this someone loved him back but he needed Tuesdays. And in the end, he had to be grateful. He'd get to spend his days off with his favorite person in the world.
The moment was over quickly because Blaine called the waiter and paid. He drove the girl home and told her politely that he wouldn't come upstairs with her. "I have to work tomorrow." And I need to tell Kurt that I love him.
He rushed back to the restaurant as fast as he could, Julie was the last thing on his mind already and for the first time in his life he cursed when he saw Holly. She shot him an angry glare and he took it because he knew very well that this situation was screwed up. The drive was quiet but he couldn't bring himself to turn on the radio. Songs were about love way too often and he didn't want someone else to sing about what he was feeling.
Holly got out of the car fast as soon as they pulled over and the way she rubbed Kurt's arm when she leaned through the window to say goodbye didn't go unnoticed. Blaine started to really believe that he was the only person in this car who knew how much he loved the man next to him.
As soon as Holly was gone, Blaine put his hands back on the wheel. He took a deep breath and blinked a few times, unsure if he should lean over to Kurt right away. He smelled not like he usually did, he was wearing the most hideous blazer in the history of fashion and they were trapped in a car. The moment Blaine should have used was already gone; he could just as well wait until it felt right. He pulled back into the traffic and made sure not to look at Kurt because it would probably break him.
Still focusing on the traffic, Blaine reached over and took Kurt's hand, brought it up to kiss it before he brushed over the soft skin between the knuckles. "I have to get out of these clothes."
I have to get out of these clothes so that I feel like myself when I tell you that I love you.
It was crazy. It was crazy because the more time passed the more Blaine felt like he had no right to say anything at all but he had to. Because love was exactly what it was. Maybe even before they got together, maybe even back then. There was nobody else Blaine wanted to talk to about his coffee shop, nobody he would watch Twilight with, nobody he wanted to make cookies for every day. Blaine wanted to go to sleep with Kurt and he wanted to wake up next to Kurt and he wanted to do everything else with Kurt as well. The whole world was blurry sometimes but with him, Blaine could see sharp. Time was a different concept, warmth was a different concept, intimacy was a different concept.
He loosened his tie in the elevator and took out his keys before Kurt got a chance. Home. Blaine held the door open for Kurt and stared at him for the first time since they had parted in the restaurant bathroom. Shrugging off the suit jacket, Blaine closed the door and leaned forward to grab Kurt's hand. He pulled him close while he leaned back against the door, his second arm loosely wrapped around Kurt's waist. "I love you too, Kurt."
Blaine had planned to wait until after the shower but he couldn't hold this back, not for a moment longer. I-love-you-too-so-so-much. "I love you. I love you so, so much."
*
Kurt opened his mouth and then closed it. And opened it and closed it again. He blinked slowly. Blaine loved him.
Blaine loved him.
How could he ever have doubted that? Everything - from the way Blaine looked at him, how Blaine kissed him, how Blaine’s toes searched for his when they were in bed, how Blaine held him, how Blaine gasped his name when they were making love - it was all so glaringly obvious.
“You....you love me,” Kurt sputtered, and it wasn’t a question, it was a certainty. How he ever could have doubted that was beyond ridiculous. “You love me.” Kurt said louder now, bouncing on his toes as the first real, genuine smile of the night broke over his face, crinkling his eyes at the corners. “I love you and you love me.” He didn’t even give any thought to how juvenile he sounded in that moment, not when Blaine was smiling at him and saying those words and his heart was so full he thought it might burst out of his chest and he’d never, ever experienced such a feeling of complete and unadulterated joy.
He surged forward, pressing his lips against Blaine’s, kissing him in the best, most sweetest way he could. And now, because they loved each other - not only in actions, but in words now as well- the kiss was that much better. Kurt didn’t have to swallow his feelings, he could say it any time he wanted.
Before leaving for work in the mornings.
After sex, during their post-coital cuddle.
At work, when Blaine brought him lunch.
At the end of every text or phone call.
Whenever and wherever he wanted.
It was perfect. Blaine was perfect and their relationship was perfect and their love was perfect. Kurt didn’t even care if he was too blinded by the shiny newness of the new aspect of their relationship, he truly believed that like everything else the two of them shared, this was perfect. The word might be overused, it might not even come close to describing what they had or maybe it wasn’t even really applicable at all, but it was the best word Kurt had for it. What they had, Kurt would always think of as perfect.
“I was so afraid,” he admitted, after reluctantly breaking the kiss. “I just kind of blurted it out like that and it wasn’t special and it wasn’t romantic but it was special because it’s us and it doesn’t have to be special to be special but I thought it was too soon and that I was going to scare you away and I was so scared but then you said it back. You said it and you mean it and I love you and you love me and I was so, so stupid to worry about it because I know you do. I ~know you do, Blaine...” Kurt was rambling, helpless to stop himself, so he just placed a hand on either side of Blaine’s face and let out a small laugh, “I love you, Blaine Anderson. You make me the happiest man alive. You make me behave in ridiculous ways and forget that I don’t do silly. You’re my coffee person and my blanket thief and my back scrubber and you’re my Christian...you’re my everything, Blaine. I love you. I’m going to kiss you again now, because I can’t stop talking...”
He had to take a deep, shaky breath, because looking into Blaine’s eyes, the love that was mirrored there took Kurt’s own breath away. Without wasting another single second, he slid his lips against Blaine’s, against the man that he loved, the one that loved him in return, and kissed him deeply.
“I love you.” Kurt whispered once more, the words sounding perfect in the air, feeling perfect in his mouth.
Olivia walked into an empty dance studio in the basement, ready to do some dancing. The room was pitch dark and semi-cold. Livvy reached around the walls, looking for the light switch, and finally found it on her left. She flicked on the lights and looked at the giant, state of the art rehearsal room. It was HUGE, with the whole front wall top to bottom with mirrors, ballet bars on the other 3 walls, and brand new iHome sounds systems. I could get used to this, Olivia thought to herself, kicking off her shoes and walking over to the iHome dock.
She plugged in her iPhone and turned on her favorite warm up music, classical. Some of Bach's most famous orchestral pieces came on and Livvy put on her pointe shoes to go to the middle of the floor and stretch. It was about 10 minutes before she noticed someone standing in the doorway. Had she been there the whole time? Probably not, but Livvy waved her inside.
"Hi, I'm Olivia," she said, introducing herself. Livvy noticed that the girl was in a crop top and booty shorts with her hair in a bun. Must be another dancer, Livvy thought. "You want to dance in here too? I"m just working on my pointe technique, and you're welcome to join me!" Livvy said enthusiastically.
Jessie sat on her bed in her room and played with the latches on her guitar case. When she was back home, she would play her guitar all the time. She would never go a day without playing a few chords, playing guitar was her passion, she just loved it so much. Since she had been to the Destined for Fame house, she hadn't really gotten a chance to play it that much yet, she just never got around to it. Since she really didn't have anything to do at the moment, she decided to play a few songs on her instrument. The sound of music blasting and girls gossiping filled up her crowded room. She decided to find a quiter place to play. Jessie stood up from her bed and grabbed her guitar case and tossed the strap on her shoulder. On her way out of her room she looked into the mirror in her room and adjusted her flowy top and fixed her long brownish red hair.
Jessie headed out the door in hopes to find a room in the house that she could play her guitar in. She still didn't know her way around the house and always found herself getting lost. The place was like a big maze to her, she hoped that she would eventually know her way around the place.
She walked through room after room in the house and eventually came across a room with couches and chairs which looked sort of like a lounge room. It didn't look like anyone was inside so she went inside and sat down on one of the fuzzy couches. She set her guitar case on the couch next to her and pulled her guitar out. She pulled out a guitar pic from her pocket, she always had them on her, wherever she went. She quickly made sure her guitar was in tune, and started to play a few notes. After playing a few notes, she started to play a song. It was one of her favorite songs to play, it was upbeat and fun to play. She played the whole song and hit all of the right notes.
She was pretty proud when she finished the song, it was probably one of the best times she had played it. She set her guitar down on her lap and looked to the right of her. She was a little startled when she saw someone standing in the doorway. Jessie knew exactly who it was, Colton. Jessie had only talked to him a few times but she really wanted to get to know him better. He seemed like such a nice guy and he played guitar just like Jessie did. Also he was super cute. "Oh hey." Jessie smiled when she saw him in the doorway. "What's up?"
