Delphine was on cloud nine after spending time with Sara, who wouldn't when they were with their crush it had been amazing and now she was off with her friend. Luna had finally messaged her letting her know that where she was and Delphine was glad to spend time with her. Sure they had been spending time all summer but more time with the girl who easily became her best friend sounded perfect. Besides Delphine wanted to gush all about her time with Sara and Luna was the only person she wanted to talk to about it. "Luna! You've finally here!" she said once she spotted her best friend and ran up to her before crushing her into a hug. “We have a lot to do, the games look great but there was no way I was going to start without you.”
Astrid: pulls up to the Anderson-Hummel residence after being invited over by Oliver. They haven't seen each other in a while, so it was nice of him to invite her over to hang and to possibly have dinner. She shut off her car and made sure to turn down her music before she would return to it later. Astrid loves to blast her music as she drives, but she knows not everyone likes it. She locked her door then made her way up to the house and rang the doorbell.
Dante was looking forward to having some sibling bonding time, since it seemed like he hadn’t seen his sister in a while. Sure they talked, but that was about it. “Alright, I got us lemonades, bottle of water and I found some pretzels. They’re still fresh out of the oven and not the ones we had on the Isle.” He said once he came back from grabbing food for them.
The sun was high and Langston shielded her eyes as she looked toward the sky. It was strange someone wanting to stare directly into sun but it made her head spin in the best way. The colors brought images to mind that she always stored away for a book illustration. She laughed to herself at herself as she blinked away the blur. She’d arrived a bit early so she just stood outside leaning against her car, not wanting to seem too eager. Langston had been sort of invited on a tour of this new town she would call home (at least for a while), and she was more excited about the adventure than she probably should be. Luna, had been kind enough to offer and Langston was immediately beyond intrigued, so though she generally liked to keep to herself this was an outing she couldn’t refuse. Bella Luna, poet, doctor, kind soul. That is what she got from their initial exchange and Langston was almost always right about people.
Exactly three minutes before their determined meet time, Langston ambled up toward Luna’s door. The smile on her lips soft and tap in her fingers quick as she drummed against her hip. Suddenly nerves settled and fact that she was meeting a new person hit her. She exhaled before knocking firmly on the door. “This will be fun and you won’t be too awkward or embarrass yourself too much.. no.” Langston worried her bottom lip as she waited.
Xavier was messing around on his guitar when Ari texted him. When he read the text about Luna, he immediately felt a tug in his chest and knew it wasn't good. Luna hadn't been herself in awhile. He placed the guitar in its stand and picked up his keys from the bowl. He quickly made his way to Ari's house. He typed into his phone and sent a message to Ari letting her know he was on his way.
Ari: Was worried. Luna hasn't been doing too good the past few days and today was the worst. Usually the little dog was te first to greet Arianna in the mornings but today she was just found lying in her dog bed. Ari tried coaxing her out but nothing was working. She wouldn't even lift her head. Ari texted Xavier. She knew it wasn't going to end well and she just needed him to be there with her. She sighed when he texted her back. She looked down at her dog. "Baby come on you need to get up and drink some water." She tried to give her water but nothing. She knew they needed toget her to the vet and fast.
Xavier drove as fast a he could. When he got to Ari's house, he didn't even bother shutting his car door behind. He walked through the door and called out. "Ari! Luna! I'm here. Where are you guys," he asked as he walked through the house looking for them.
Ari: Scooped Luna up into her arms. It made Ari so sad to see her doggie like this. She had had Luna for eight years. And to see her so lifeless hurt. She cradled the dog against her chest as she grabbed her purse and started to make her way put knowing that Xavier was coming. Soon enough she heard his voice. " right here." She approached him with Luna in her arms. "We should go now." Ari was quiet. She was too worried to talk much.
Xavier had known the little tike as about as long as he'd known Ari. He hasn't been around Luna that much but he always had a soft spot for her and it broke his heart to see her helpless. It broke his heart even more for Ari. He knew she loved that dog more than anything. When he entered the hallway, he saw them approaching him, Luna gently cradled in Ari's arm. "Yeah," he nodded. "Let's go." He lead the way out then closed the door behind them. He let them in the car first then quickly jumped in putting the car in gear, driving as fast as he could through the traffic.
Ari: followed Xavier to the car and carefully got in. Holding her even closer, all Ari could do was pet the dog and murmur little things to her. "You're gonna be ok baby. Just hang in there ok. Mama's got you." Ari stroked the dog's soft fur. Ari wasn't even paying attention to how fast Xavier was driving. She just kept her eyes on her baby and tried to comfort not only the pup but herself. Maybe there was a hope that they could do something for Luna but Ari didn't want to get her hopes up.
Xavier glanced over at the two, giving them a sad look. He reached over to pet the the furry animal. He wished he knew that she'd be okay but he wasn't sure and he didn't want to give Ari any false hope so he just silently drove to the animal hospital and prayed that Luna would be okay. He sighed as they finally arrived at the place, putting the car into park.
Ari: just sat quietly the whole ride. She wasn't in the mood for talking but she really was glad Xavier had come. She felt a little better when he was around. So as the rode quietly, Ari just gently pet her dog. Soon they arrived to the vet. They rushed in and told the nurse what was going on. The nurse then called for the vet who came out. He explained that they'd do a couple tests and see what the results were. They would have to wait though. Ari nodded and carefully handed Luna over to the nurse. She kissed the top of her pup's head. "I love you baby." Ari swallowed thickly as she watched the nurse take her away.
Xavier followed Ari into the building. He petted Luna gently as Ari spoke to the nurse. When the doctor came out, he listened as the doctor explained about Luna having to undergo some tests. He rubbed Ari's as she handed Luna to the nurse then gently scratched the back of Luna's neck before they took her into one of the rooms. "We'll see you in a little bit, girl. Okay? We love you," he said as he waved to the dog. He turned to Ari and wrapped his arms around her tightly. "Come on. Let's go sit," he took her hand in his and led her back into the waiting area, choosing the seats in the far corner.
Ari: felt so scared. She had had Luna since she was a puppy. And all those nights she cried when she was upset, Luna was the only one there all those times. She was her baby. And the fact that she was dying made Ari so sad. She leaned against Xavier as they sat down. She rested her head on his shoulder, not saying a word. She just hoped that everything would turn out ok. But for now all she could do was pray.
Xavier put an arm over her shoulder and lightly kissed the top of her head. "It's going to be fine. She'll be okay," he said but he wasn't to sure about it all. He wanted so much for Luna to be okay so that Ari would be okay but things didn't seem to go that way. He sighed as he stared into the hallway that led to the hospital rooms.
Ari: just leaned against Xavier. Taking his hand in her's, she held it tightly as if she couldn't let go. He always made her feel a little better but right now nothing was helping. After what seemed like hours, the doctor came out with a sad look on his face. He explained that Luna was very sick and that all her organs were shutting down. Ari's hand immediately covered her mouth as a small cry escaped her lips. He said that they could try to get her on an IV but that she would still be in a lot of pain and they weren't sure how long that would let her live. So there was two options: THat or finally put her out of her misery. She was fairly old for her breed and she had lived a good life but Ari was so afraid to let her go. She would have to think about it.
Xavier looked up to see the doctor walk up to them. From the expression on the doctor's face Xav knew the news wasn't good. He listened as the doctor spoke and rubbed Ari's back gently. He knew it would be better for Luna if they just let her go and end her suffering now but he also understood that it would be hard for Ari to let her baby go. "If you could give us a few minutes, doctor, to talk this over." The vet nodded and Xav turned his attention to Ari. He closed his eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, then opened them again. "Baby," he said softly as he rubbed her shoulders. "Whatever you decide to do, I will be here for you, okay? We're going to get through this."
Ari: could feel the lump in her throat growing by the second. Her eyes welled up with tears. She was losing her baby and she knew it. There was no use denying it and it was so sad. She nodded not looking at him just yet. Her eyes were to the floor and her heart was heavy with sadness. Ari knew what she had to do. She couldn't let Luna suffer anymore. So after telling the vet, the vet nodded and told them that they would start setting everything up. He ushered them to the back to the small room where they could say their final goodbyes
Xavier 's heart hurt for both Ari and Luna. At least he and Ari knew that Luna had had a great life. He kept hold of Ari's hand as they were led to the room where Luna was. They walked up to the puppy laying helpless on the cold metal table. He stroke the dog's coat gently and kissed the top of her head gently. "Hey girly girl. I'm going to miss you. I've had fun getting to know you. Love you," he didn't really know what else to say and even though he hasn't been around much he was going to miss her a lot. He turned to Ari and gave her a sad smile before stepping back and letting her say her goodbyes.
Ari: walked slowly towards the room. She couldn't help the soft cry that escaped her lips when her eyes landed on her baby Luna, laying motionless on the steel table. She watched as Xavier spoke to her and pet her. But when it was her turn, Ari broke down. "Baby I love you so much. So so much baby. And mommy is gonna miss you. God..." She kissed the dog's head as the tears spilled down her cheeks. "I love you Luna." Ari laid her head on the dog and sobbed for a moment. She was losing her best friend. It would sound ridiculous to other's but Luna was her comfort when she had no one else. In her weakest moments, Luna was always there wagging her tails ready to love her owner. And now it was all going to be gone. Ari sobbed some more as she pet and kissed her puppy. The vet came in and finally said it was time. They hooked her up and then within moments, Luna's breathing finally stopped. Ari cried as she gave her baby one final kiss. "I'll miss you baby." She turned to Xavier and buried her face into his chest as the tears kept coming.
Xavier listened as Ari said her final goodbyes. It broke his heart to see Ari so torn up about her baby but she was doing the right thing. Luna wouldn't suffer anymore and it would probably have made Ari's heart break even more to see Luna struggle if she'd let her live. He watched as the vet injected the the liquid that would finally put the dog at peace. And within a minute, Luna took her final breath. He held Ari in his arms, keeping a tight hold of her, and rubbing her back for some comfort.
Ari: just cried. She was so sad. Her baby was gone. But at least she wasn't suffering anymore. Ari just cried in Xavier's arms and the finally calmed down. She sniffled and looked over at the still dog with puffy red eyes. She walked over to her and gave her one final kiss. "I love you." She then sighed and scooped up Luna in her arms. She was ready to go. She would bury her in her backyard under a tree. Then she would have to continue with her life, even if a little sad.
Aliz was taking Axel for a walk indoors. They were walking down the open air hallways, Axel, Aliz’s white-haired pet ferret, was walking along the banister. It was raining so hard it was difficult to see out there. Aliz kept her eyes on him. She knew he liked to play in the rain but she hoped the heaviness of the rain would keep out of trouble. She was wrong.
Axel without warning jumped off the banister and into the courtyard, Aliz rushed over watched him. She wanted to be angry but he was having so much fun. He ran from puddle to puddle getting himself soaked with mud and rain water. Aliz laughed, and refrained from scolding. She could just magic the water and mud off later anyway.
Axel suddenly turned and gave Aliz his biggest pleading eyes. Aliz knew right away what he wanted, “No way, Axel, do you know what my father would say if he heard about me playing in the rain like a child?”Aliz pointed off. She often treated Axel as if he understood like anyone human. He was more intelligent than any muggle pet she had met. She wondered if being around magic affected him.
Axel seemed to increase his pleading and Aliz’s refusal, “No!Alexei would lecture me too, and we both know how frustrating that is. Besides they’d be right. I’m not a ferret. I’m a lady. I don’t get to get away with behaving like you do.”
Now Axel was sulking. Aliz bit her lip. Axel was having a lot of fun. Who was she to ruin it? Besides, Axel learned to play in the rain from her behavior when she was younger. There was no one around she noticed, looking around cautiously. She could just magic the water and mud out of her clothes later.
Aliz slipped off her shoes, giving into temptation. She set them on the banister. Being barefoot was more fun and it was one less thing to magic. She ran out with Axel. Axel chased her and they ran from puddle to puddle jumping in a making a mess. Aliz’s laughter echoed through the halls.
Tai shoved as much junk food into her purse that she thought would fit. She knew she would wind up with the munchies, or would just want to eat her feelings after talking to someone about something she was sure was going to change her life completely. Now Taissa didn't believe in miracles but she was going to be praying for one from now on. Taissa double checked her stuff to make sure everything was there before she headed down to Luna's room. Tai liked Luna, she was sweet, and easy to talk to. The two of the had hung out before, but not enough for a pair of people who live down the hall from each other.
Taissa gathered her things, shut the lights in her room off and headed down the hallway to Luna's room. She knocked a few times on the door, waiting patiently for an answer. When the door opened she smiled, waving at the cute girl and smiling. "Hey, I brought snacks!" she cheered a little over enthusiastically but Tai was always a spaz when she was around her friends.
*spots you from across the hallway* Ah! *scurries up to you, a sweet smile plastered on my face* Annyeong! My name is Park Sunyoung! *holds out a hand* But you can call me Luna, that's the name I prefer to go by. *widens my smile so my eyes smile with my lips* What's your name?
Hoya's art class just ended and he was taking his belongings from the table, putting the sling of his bag onto his shoulder. He then proceeded to walk out of class - deciding to take a break since he did not have any work that day and head back to his dorm. Before he could even do that, the sound of one's footsteps were captured by his attentive ears. Turning back he saw that it was a girl with a sweet smile, delivering a greeting to him. "Why hello Luna," Hoya said, putting a smile on his face as he replied. "My name's Hoya, nice to meet you."
