So dude every time I see your username pop up I am reminded of this traumatic time where me and my friends ordered pizza from dominos and we asked for half cheese but instead they gave us no cheese and put hot sauce on the entire thing and it was the saddest pizza ever but I was so hungry so I ate most of it anyways.

Srsly. It's the only ugly mark on this fandom, really. Even before the cancellation announcement, fans (encouraged by POM and FYeah) ragged on Disney for scheduling or "out of order" episodes or on-demand/itunes leaks. Like, i know not a big portion of tumblr has sold a tv show to a network before, but every single creator is hard-pressed to find a buyer who doesn't negotiate changes to cover their own ass and their brand. They're gonna change things, switch orders, screw up on promotion, and straight-up veto ideas. If an artist wants their original work to stay 100% unchanged from their original vision, they pretty much HAVE to produce and air it themselves.
But, i mean, some of the changes turned out to be what we LOVED about this show. Would we really have fallen for Mike if he was a generic revenge-driven man who didn't care about leading his friends into danger all the time? No. No, we adore this lovechild of a Carebear and Evel Knievel. If you took Mike Chilton to Disneyland he'd be first in line for Mickey Mouse before hitting the thrill rides. And would we realllllly have loved this show more if it had cussing and blood and drugs? Look, i got 50 other Adult Swim shows you can fawn over if that's the case.
The only original change we heard of that would have turned out better is the second girl Burner. But look what we got anyway, guys: Julie isn't perfect, and that's what makes her AMAZING. Smart, resourceful, skilled, loyal, brave. Unsure, guilty, fearful, proud. She lives two lives and despite her dad being the villain she loves him with all her heart, and is quite a bit like him besides. This doesn't even cover Claire, whose glory i cannot put into words; "Babs", The Amazons, Tennie, Kaia. It's like someone went "reach into the bag and pull out your one cool girl character," then went "aw i'm just fuckin with ya" and emptied the whole bag on our heads.
Did Disney drop the ball on all the amazing potential of this show? Yes. I honestly don't know why it's stuck on XD for a smaller audience. Until i can actually ask the person in charge of marketing why there was no effort put into the GOLDMINE of video games, soundtracks, action figures, toy cars, comics, pins, vehicle accessories, stunt shows, and face characters at the parks, i'm at a loss how it slipped through their fingers. But Disney as a whole is responsible for so much good in our lives, not only in arts and science but in how we see our world. Everyone should be grateful they helped bring Motorcity to life.
