Two of my favorite moments from the LoTR books are centered around Merry and Pipin and I think demonstrate the difference in their characters beautifully

Merry in Book 1: "Hey Frodo, this grand journey you're about to go on...does it have anything to do with that ring that Bilbo always has on him but tries to hide? The one that turns him invisible sometimes? Yeah I knew about that but it wasn't my business so I never asked."

Pippin in Book 3: "What do you mean Strider's a king??"

i love regina so much. she’s an artist i already felt so seen in. and then when the massacre happened i had her music to fall back on. she didn’t just say “oh no this is so sad” she straight up told her fans “if you are commenting about how you disagree with me on a bunch of my people being murdered but still saying you’ll listen to my music you should stop because if i was there and another dead jew you would have celebrated” and then when she got harassed at a concert she said “fuck off this is what made me a refugee i don’t want my kids to be refugees too”. her music is so jewish and she’s proud of her jewishness and it really makes me so happy
