That… actually worked???
Ok so I need to eat lunch but don’t wanna bc it’s hard rn, thanks fatigue
And I decided to try this idea of parent yourself but very literally, I was both a parent and a small child. Sitting child me down and asking what’s wrong.
Child doesn’t want to eat lunch. Why? Because it’s hard. Her feels kinda bad, he’s really tired. Yes, he is a little hungry, but still.
So, I gently tell child me: eating is good for us, eating could make us feel better and more up to doing some of the fun things we want. I go over some food choices, and how even if one of them isn’t available, the others are still easy to make. And I’ll be there, holding kiddos hand the whole time, walking him through it. I know it’s hard. I know he pushes through a lot. So I am patient, kind and supportive.
And suddenly, getting up and making a sandwich isn’t such a daunting task anymore?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I- guess I’ll be trying this more often?!?!??
My sheer disbelief, dumbfounded-ness, and incredulity that this actually help has also helped me feel less like I need to melt into the ground and more like I can make a fucking sandwich. I got this. That sandwich that doesn’t exist yet is fucking doomed guys, imma make it and eat and then some chips too bc fuck yeah!
