RoosterTeeth had to boot someone for soliciting fans. Now GameGrumps' editor's getting heat for sexually harassing a minor and trying to hide the evidence. Is it assume to assume that, should anyone partner up with Yogscast, it's because birds of a feather flock together?
Yep. Just to play catch-up, the Yogscast and Rooster Teeth are “partnering” - ( Pulitzer Prize Winner Danielle Partis also did an article, and despite the fact she made a good call to draw attention in the article the 2019 Triple Kill, ‘tubefilter’ has information that wasn’t just pooped out of the statement, so.)
Seven hit series from 12-year-old The Yogscast — including seven-player, mafia-style game TTT and the dad chat-focused podcast Triforce — launched today on a dedicated page on Rooster Teeth’s website. Additionally, Rooster Teeth’s podcast network, The Roost, will provide ad sales support to The Yogscast’s slate. Finally, the deal will call for Yogscast to collaborate with Rooster Teeth imprints Achievement Hunter, Funhaus, and Inside Gaming on various content ventures focused on gameplay and comedy.
So basically, Yogscast will drive traffic to Rooster Teeth from the UK, in exchange for filling in the massive cavities in their advertising income. FourthFloor, despite boasting about being well-connected, is a bit of a paddle-boat, so I guess they hope RT will make themselves look better at advertising than their reputation has demonstrated.
But regarding your question, do you remember the name of the guy from Rooster Teeth who got booted? I remember all of the silly lurid things, like how he was fired on the spot and Geoff pulled his RTX badge from his neck mid-con, but I don’t remember if he was an editor or a content creator or what.
But you’d think given that kind of foundation, rather than ad support, Rooster Teeth could offer seminars on how to strike someone from your network without smearing their bullshit all over yourself. In the case of Game Grumps’ Ben Anderson, from what I’ve seen, they’re being overly secretive about what, if anything, has been done, and some people doubt they intend to do anything at all.
I just imagine Geoff standing at the front of a classroom with Arin and Lewis and a bunch of their people sitting at desks. And then Gavin comes in with a creepy mustache and Geoff is like, “Gavin will be our volunteer to stand in as a pedophile today. All of you get your boxing gear on. Remember what I told you in our last class: sanitize your hands after disposing of the pedophile.”
