My pieces for @GoldyPondZine !
My fav scene of the manga is in ch.93, when Norman picks Emma up from her soul's depths and push her up to fight. I will always be stunned by how powerful her standing up was and how sweet and deep the meaning of him reaching her in her lowest, in her most hidden side of the heart was.
So my first piece is inspired mostly on that. While the second focuses more on Emma letting go of a part of herself, saying bye to the child and facing the harsh war ahead of her, without letting go of her values of course.
I went all out with symbolism XD

Alexander Parvus, Leon Trotsky, Leo Deutsch
Hey! I love your Online Dating Can Be Hard series, and I was wondering if you could tell me a bit more about Parvus and how they fit into the world you've built? I love the idea of them!
Oh geeze, great question. Basically I wanted to create a world where tinies weren't borrowers or pets. I wanted to put them on more of an equal plane. The overall arching idea is that parvuses and humans are kinda like dogs were there is more than one species, but they interact with each other more so as equals. I also wanted to make it so that they were already known and basically evolved over the years with their human counterparts.
Not trying to get political with it but I wanted to the parvus character to be similar to how the world views women or different races. For the most part everyone is cool with them and wants to be kind, but then there are also people who take advantage of them or are cruel purely because they are small and they can.
When looking for what to name them I figured I would go with the Latin word for small because Latin makes up a fair amount of languages.
Hopefully this answers your question. The world is also open for anyone else to use! Don't even have to tag me or anything! I just want all of us to be creative and make some great stories for everyone to enjoy!
Wood Engraving Wednesday
SVEN LJUNGBERG
This week we present original wood engravings by the Swedish visual artist and writer Sven Ljungberg (1913-2010) illustrating his own text Parvus, translated and introduced by Rosemary & Thorsten Sjölin, and printed in an edition of 200 copies in Oldham, England by Graham Moss and Kathy Whalen at Incline Press in 2000. This collection of stories about Ljungberg’s childhood in Småland, Sweden, was first published in Stockholm in 1971. This translation was printed using the original wood blocks.
Ljungberg is remembered especially for creating the certificates for the winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics, Chemistry, and Economics from 1977 to 1981, but he is also a noted book illustrator. Nobel Prize winner in literature Pär Lagerkvist, whose books Ljungberg illustrated, called him “the best illustrator in the world.” The Sjölins write: “Sven’s memories of his childhood are especially vivid. The stories in Parvus, illustrated with his evocative wood engravings, are filled with details about day-to-day life in a village in the south of Sweden during the first half of the twentieth century.” Ljungberg served as Director of Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm between 1972 and 1978 and was the school's Rector from 1978 to 1981. He was honored by his hometown of Ljungby with the construction of a museum, Ljungbergmuseet, to house his works.
