Nugu GG of the Week #195 : Pascol

Pascol is 3 member group that debuted in 2013. The members are J.Sun, Moon Bin, and Yuna. The group's name is a combination of the words Pastel and Color. Apparently all 3 of them are former soloists? Honestly idk, they're very nugu, and this is coming from me!

One of the girls left the group shortly after they debuted, they continued as a duo for 6ish years tbh not sure if they're still active or not BUT we're only gonna talk about their debut song. Let's Eat Together Sometime is a simple ballad about heartbreak, vocals are so pretty, and I love this song a lot. They did release one more song called Tears Block My View as a trio that I like but that song is just shadow banned from the all streaming services for some reason. This song isn't on their Spotify not sure why but whatever, they're nugus.

Tbh while I do genuinely listen to this song from time to time I never thought about doing a post for Pascol 🤔 because A) their nugu like NUGU, like it's just hard looking them up unlike other groups I've mentioned, and B) a ballad group not a pop dance group, and C) I didn't keep up with them after debut so no idea what their latter releases sound like and I did notice an 👀 interesting hair choice that member was given for a song so yeah

But with all the discussions of new gen groups not being able to sing I thought I would slip in them to remind people that there are some nugu groups that do actually have some singing ability. I already mentioned the big name vocal nugu queens like Kiss & Cry, BTswing, Lush, Eye to Eye, Odd Eye, Yell,O.W., Sunny Days and most recently EvoL. So yes new gen groups are not getting that proper training (not everyone can be Haram/Suhyeon of Billlie) but let's pour one out for the queens of nugudom who could sing but sadly didn't gain any fans DESPITE having great music and then ultimately disbanding.

I remember Solji (EXID) talking about her early days of training and being in 2NB that despite being a great singer she had a hard time trying to debut pre -exid because she was told she didn't fit the idol type, "you gotta be as pretty and skinny as Goo Hara" which is 🙄 irritating on so many levels, I'm sure in today's music scene companies say the same but now with that IVE girl... Grazy Grace the rapper girl that had a Harley Quinn vibe from Unpretty Rapstar also mentioned during her trainee days to be an idol (under Brown Eyed Girls company) that they split the 'pretty' girls from the girls that could sing and the pretty group got a better training push and eventually debuted (Laboum 👀), so it does make you wonder how many singers actually audition for these companies but don't get accepted because their age or looks.

UNA COLLABORAZIONE SENZA CONSERVANTI E SENZA COMPROMESSI
