vest+pants out in public :3
awkward 360 showing off phase two of my patch shorts i’m so happy with how they’re coming along and they’ve already survived a show 😎
[ID: a black cotton patch that reads “sunrise, parabellum” in Lino stamped capital letters, with white fabric paint. It is pinned along the bottom edge to the hem of one leg of a pair of black denim shorts, and has begun to be sewn on.]
Nearly there
Some patch shorts that are super close to being done with :) im rlly happy with em so far
Today's fit. I got so many compliments from middle aged women it's actually kinda funny
Ive seen people echo sentiments like "punk fashion is too expensive" and it couldn't be further from truth so let me break down how much this whole thing cost.
Beaded bat shirt - DIY beading and button work on a thrifted shirt, ~2usd
My patch shorts - DIY patchwork and sewn on metal o-rings for keys on thrifted worker shorts, ~3usd
[[Translations:
"to jest kurwa dramat" - this is a fucking atrocity/drama. Iconic movie quote often used to describe horrible political decisions
"widział ktoś moje spodnie?" - has anybody seen my pants? Its just funny to put that on pants y'know.]]
The leather vest/corset/top - DIY from an old faux leather cloak I outgrew, jeans I found on the street, old shoelace and rivets and grommets I definitely shoplifted ~0usd
Just finished it today and I am so in love, it can be worn on its own as a quite sexy top, it can be worn over a shirt like a proper vest, or without the laces as a more chill and open vest. What a way to repurpose a cloak I used to wear all the time but eventually outgrew!!
Fingerless half-glove - DIY out of a frilly girly glove I found on the ground, cut off the flowery designs, cut off the fingers, screwed in spikes, ~0.10usd
Shoes are Demonias Mega 602 which do cost 200usd but are like, the only article of fashion I spent any serious money on like, ever in my life, but I'm not gonna admit defeat and let you think cool boots are expensive because YOU CAN MAKE COOL BOOTS FOR CHEEP!!!!
For example I made these shoes out of second hand knock-off demonias that cost me ~30usd, which I then shortened, finished the hem with embroidery, added rivets to the top two stripes and spikes to the bottom ones, as well as a light chain to disguise the sewn shut zipper, and now they are my favourite shoes, so favourite in fact that they are falling apart. And they cost me a little over the 30usd price I got them for
Lesson is: look for trash, use it to its fullest potential, punk is not about spending money, get creative and slay
Heading to the show now :3! Got my vest and the armwarmers i knit on!
a closer look at the new shorts
Progress on my newly thrifted summer patch shorts :] pardon the shit pics
