Drew this Patchouli design i made last year two years ago again

The ideas for this came from looking at her EoSD portrait a lot and thinking about the details lol. Like the bookmarks i gave her on her hat, cloak and hair, came from wondering if her very rectangular ribbons are meant to have holes in them on the end or if its just white details

And that reminded me of bookmarks somehow and i just thought it'd be funny to give her a lot. They also look like magic talismans or something. In the sketch i did of this design in 2024 i wrote the kanji for each of the 7 elements she uses on the ones hanging from her hat

And then, its less subtle in the old sketch lol, but i tried to make her dress kind of resemble a book. This was inspired by her iconic striped pajamas looking dress that was actually meant to be shading according to ZUN

and so i thought hm it could kind of look like the paper side of a closed book. i'll do something with that

Theres also like one more detail in my design based on another often overlooked detail of her original design but im too lazy to explain it. anyway i hope you enjoyed observing patchouli

It's been a while since i rambled about touhou designs like this i should do it more again, i miss it...
