okay so you know how Jemis's sister Elinor was mysteriously left out of Mr Buchance's will? and you know how in WJ there was the mysterious maid at Dart Hall who Jemis thought looked mysteriously familiar, and he couldn't quite remember her name but knew it was something like Ellie or Ellen? premise: 16-year old Elinor Jr traveled back in time and accidentally erased herself from existence, and got a job at Dart Hall to support herself while she figured out how to fix things. you're welcome!
He had always seemed incredibly grown-up to my eyes, with his splendid coats and hats, his adventures and his shop. He seemed very young now, only some four or five years older than I, but more to the point without the air of confidence I knew him to carry in my time. I had not noticed its lack before he grew into it, I suppose, but then I had been very young. He was wearing a Crimson Lake ring, I noticed. Mine was stashed away upstairs. I did not dare reveal myself to someone so close to my past self, but perhaps he had more distant contacts who could assist me. I wanted to tell him that he was under a curse, that his aunt and uncle were not to be trusted, that he ought to go into the forest and smash the Dark Kings' shrine to bits before its servitors managed to leach enough stolen power from the land to become a threat—but of course, that was the very last thing I should do, as a traveler not only out of time but out of existence as well. My merest slip had erased me from existence; who knew what dire consequences might result from such weighty disclosures? Better to remain silent, and watch my brother's face grow shrouded under a curse I knew would shortly come into terrible effect. Better, but not easier.
