Missing 11th Street Kids hours 😔
controversially I did like the peacemaker finale but the two things that didn't land for me:
1) peacemaker and harcourt: he went to a different dimension to date some weird sanitised version of her because she rejects him initially and we're just MOVING past that like no actually chris um let's have a bit of a chat
2) the whole season being chris ignoring adrian and even emilia being like 'hey be nicer to him' to get no pay off, no conversation between the two, nothing about the letter but at least we got good ads x ads friendship
"peacemaker finale is good because it sets up man of tomorrow ☝️🤓" id like the peacemaker finale to end the story of peacemaker. id like the peacemaker finale to be about the characters and their journey and their development and their story. not a setup for a bigger cooler production. this is the exact shit i hated in marvel and it pisses me off. really didnt like this season at all guys im gonna be honest, season 1 was a good story that progressed naturally from episode to episode and introduced the characters and made sense and presented an idea, season 2 feels like somebody forgot their toys in the sandbox overnight. it feels like id doesnt care about any character thats not chris and emilia, and when it comes to their relationship it doesnt even feel natural. every fucking episode is about something else, theres so many sideplots that take up so much fucking time and they get resolved in like 3 episodes and lead nowhere. it feels like a distraction, like they had to fill up 8 episodes somehow and they did whatever to pass the time. idfk. and im not counting on adrian appearing as a cameo in any other project, he barely felt like a cameo in this one. none of the characters care about him or seem to like him even after all that, and i dont think james gunn likes him outside of the "murderhobo" deadpool clone. i expected nothing and im still disappointed
peacemaker 2 finale is was like what if we set up a bunch of shit that never paid off
a 57-min episode but 20 minutes are just rock concerts but anyway JULIAN IS A HUNGRY WORLD THEY GONNA EAT ALIVE SON YEAHHHHHH

Honestly I liked the finale a lot. It rounded out everyone’s character and gave them all some kind of closure, Chris knows that he has a family, Harcourt accepted that she can be loved, Ads broke it off with Keeya for the both of them and followed her dreams, and John quit his job to do something he enjoyed with people he cared about. Sure, there wasn’t any action and that cliffhanger was horrible, especially since we don’t know if there’ll be a season three, but so what? Everyone rewrites canon all the time anyway.
And yes it did suck that Adrian barely did anything this season but Adrian was never a character used for development and story even in season one, he was always the action and comedic relief character. And he wasn’t given any kind of story or conflict early in the season other than that he wasn’t hanging out with Chris more often. Though he was sidelined this season, it was to give characters that were sidelined last season more attention, like John. And, again, it sucks that most of the fandom’s favorite was sort of ignored this season, but he still got some decent scenes
Also to the people who are upset about there being no cameos… you guys were the only ones saying there would be. We got no confirmation from Gunn (that I’m aware of) that there would be cameos other than Luthor. Marvel has poisoned your brain with cameos, they aren’t needed to make a show good. And I get that it can be a little disappointing, but come on, why would Superman fly over to the redneck town that is Evergreen?
Also I really liked that there were some scenes filmed in Savannah (the boat and Chris’ motel) cuz I’ve been there a lot and it’s a neat place
And the montage of them going through the different door was cool I liked it (also there’s a canon zombie universe so more fun for me)
And the finale made me love Peacecourt. Which, also leads into the fact that it was teased from the very beginning of the show and it’s unfair to get upset about it when we knew it would be happening since episode one (that’s not to say you can’t ship who you want). also I will say that this season made me kinda not ship vigilmaker anymore, honestly I think Judomaster and Vigilante would be pretty cool
All in all, the finale was good. You can disagree all you want but I loved and enjoyed it
Peacemaker S2 Finale Thoughts...
Well, I finished the finale and I was left feeling a bit... empty? Unsatisfied?
Don't get me wrong, I really loved what they were doing in this episode, I loved the scenes between Adebayo and Chris, loved how they got Checkmate up and running... but I feel like a lot of this should've been touched on a bit more earlier in the season.
Not to mention, I think Economos, Adebayo, and Harcourt got far more screen time than Chris did... and it's his show.
I think I would've liked this episode more if it wasn't a finale. If it wasn't a conclusion to a show that might not even get another season. In the podcast episode, John Cena even said he read the script and asked himself, is that it?
I will say I was kind of underwhelmed by how Adrian was kind of sidelined this season, and that's not because I'm a simp for him or whatever... but it kind of felt he was just comedic relief or a jack of all trades who would pop up whenever the other cast needed something. In S1, he was comedic, but he also integrated himself well into the plot and with the rest of the squad. Each of the 11th Street Kids had a moment to shine in S1, but this season... not so much.
I still loved S2, but I feel like we needed a bit more time to conclude certain points.
