Gravity is temporary. Cheese is forever
Hey! Your transition post got me rly feeling some things and like, unlocked a new level of feelings on myself and stuff. I ended up writing a poem about the way I felt from it and wanted to share it w u since u played a large part in it. Also, thank you. Thank you really.
WHEN I WAS HIM
When I was Him, I hated myself
Even after I was Him no longer, I still hated Him
I tried to rip Him from my soul
To shove Him so deep inside myself
I wanted to lock Him in a box inside of my heart and pile stones and stones upon it so that He may never be seen or heard from again
When I was Him, I wanted to die
To shred His body into pieces
Or to disappear into a mask of anonominity
For so long I tried to believe that He never existed.
That I was always Her
But that's not true
That can't be true because I once was Him
And now, looking back with newfound peace
I can see Him for who He really was
I can see His hurt
His loneliness
His longing
His love
And His joy, even if it was so so small
I can now look back with love
With tenderness
And I'll never forget again
How much I mattered
When I was Him
He's gone now
There's no shred of Him left within me
He's not dead
Just gone.
He can finally rest easy
I've got it from here.
I'm touched honestly <3 it's one of those things where there isn't really a guidebook on how to feel. How to feel about anything really, but even less so what it means to be trans in the current climate.
Again, I'm touched my way of seeing myself has offered you some clarity into yourself. It's a deeply personal experience, but finding some common ground among community is nice.
As well, I'd be lying if I said I came to every conclusion about my identity and life all on my own. Some of them sure, but some I gotta shout out my therapist, and there is definitely some folks on here that inspire me too :)
On the other hand, if anyone if going to show compassion to our past selves there's no better option than ourselves 😊 love the self, no matter what form the self takes I say~
All that said, it was a lovely poem <3 thank you for sharing 💜

My favorite part about tumblr is when some anon asks a question and the person takes a screenshot of their own blog with the answer
instead of going to sleep I watched this twice and started to cry
The way I cry so hard watching marathon videos
