kidnapped reader having a bad anxiety moment and scrunching up under the covers and shaking. Andrew is obv there in less than a second, standing and staring awkwardly because wtf does he do.
so he gently pulls back the covers just enough that your head is visible and after a long moment of MORE anxiety and staring he kinda just. puts his hand on top of your head completely silently and starts petting you like a dog
and like??? at first you're like this is insane and maybe this is building up to something scary but it's not. he's just practically brushing your hair with his calloused fingers, repetitive motions that repeat over and over. And honestly? it's not terrible. and Andrew is suddenly realizing Oh. your hair is so, so soft. And originally he was doing it to try to comfort you, but now he's just standing by the bed, towering over you and watching in awe as your hair flows throw his fingers like silky water. or something he doesn't know. he's not a poet.
and maayyyybe it's nice enough that you crawl out of your little anxiety tent and pat the bed so he'll sit next to you. he gently pulls you to lay in his lap because he knows how nice it feels to lay in someone's lap and reaches for that nice brush he bought for you, careful that none of the tangles cause any pain. and maybe you even fall asleep there.
anyway I think Andrew Cody would b obsessed with someone with longer hair who would let him play with it and brush it and braid it. My sensory seeking fish blinker <3

this is sooooooo incredibly good. like pure daydream material. i honestly love kidnapped reader so much and though this might not be in the fic like this is such a concept. it just opens the realm of how they start falling in love with each other despite the circumstances and andrew's gentleness with her is soo !!!! but it's also like self soothing ??!!??! idk i love this so much. i think just any form of playing with hair is so andrew coded. he reminds me of that one scene from pride and prejudice where mister bingley briefly touches the ribbon on jane's dress. like just wherever he can touch you he wants to but he doesn't want to scare you. kidnapped reader is asleep often because what the hell else is she gonna be doing. and i think andrew just sits on the corner and touches the fabric of her skirt or brushes her hair away from her face and it's all very <3 omg thank you i love you!!!! you're so sweet! ahhhh stop arranged marriage andrew it's my new favorite thing ever!
