I don't know why the fandom of the fanfic of the marauders All The Young Dudes is so big and intense, having a very toxic relationship as a plot, the only salvageable can be Grant and Mary. While the series of Wattpad de Pengiwen marauders with a very interesting plot in which it not only focuses on a couple but on war and magic and with much healthier relationships is 10 times better; in this Remus and Sirius they know what the fucking COMMUNICATION is and Sirius is not a fucking idiot, the boy is sighing for Remus and treats him as if he were fucking perfect (Which he is)... And for Merlin, this have his own incredible character, I mean Maryrose IS FANTASTIC, I'M IN LOVE WITH HER, the character of Regulus shines (James and he is friends), James, I love him (James literal has a talk with Sirius that he does not care that he is gay and that if he really loves Remus he does nothing unless he is 100% safe; because if he hurts him he plans to hit him in the face AND SIRIUS REPLIES THAT HE WOULD PREFER TO HIT HIMSELF), Remus is adorable and deserves a thousand hugs, Lily is a bit heavy but you can't blame her since she believes in what she said in Severus (Fuck you Snivelus) and I was not realized in a really toxic friendship, they show us how Peter is going to the dark side... Because he is a coward, there are deaths that hurt me a lot, and also attention to characters such as teachers (McGonagall) or the parents of the group (James's parents), things that give meaning to others that happen in the Harry Potter saga that you stay, HE SAID IT, IT IS FOR THIS AAAHH!... It deserves more attention.

this is a psa for the younglings in the marauders fandom. you can actually tell how old a marauders era fic is by seeing who they wrote as james' parents. before jkr posted her history of the potter family on pottermore (actually, before pottermore itself) she used to auction manuscripts with extended universe stuff and easter eggs (the tales of beedle the bard, the untitled sirius and james' short story are some examples) for charity. among the manuscripts auctioned was the black family tree, based on the tapestry at 12 grimmauld place in ootp.

curiously, among many other names, the tapestry lists a dorea black who was born in 1920 and died in 1977 married to charlus potter. also listed is an unnamed son, born presumably between 1940-1977. since witches and wizards take the last name of their fathers we can assume that this son was also a potter.

naturally, since no other potter is mentioned in the series but harry and james, most people assumed this son was james. that's why in fanfictions written prior to 2015, james' parents are not fleamont and euphemia potter but charlus and dorea.

two great examples: the debt of time by shayalonnie, originally uploaded in 2014, which has charlus and dorea while all the young dudes by mskingbean89, originally uploaded in 2017, already has fleamont and euphemia.

the dates on the original black family tree are dodgy, though. cygnus black (b. 1938) would have been 13 when he had bellatrix (b. 1951), 17 when he had narcissa (b. 1955). also, for a family so obsessed with pure blood supremacy and the continuation of the pure bloodlines, they had very little offspring since lots of family members died single and/or childless.
