Dark Prince Eugene for the reverse unpopular opinion meme!

Prince man lets go!! First off — I don't hate it. I love the idea of giving Eugene a story outside of Rapunzel and felt his internal struggle with finally turning against all he wanted (once upon a time) was really interesting to explore!!

Eugene having to choose between loyalty via blood v his own found family and having to question everything was really... Nice, sad, but a question I think a lot of people could struggle with. Having to suddenly question everything BC he's suddenly a prince must have been really hard and I think "Everything I ever thought I knew" encapsulated that well!! (It's also one of my favourite songs)

This isn't his first identity crisis and it won't be his last — finding himself is something he struggled with before and still needs some help with... I just... The inner turmoil was fun to explore and really made me feel for him and something I didn't mind at all

I don't think it demeans his past too much! He didn't need to be a prince to find happiness, being a prince isn't what makes Rapunzel love him or Lance be his friend! That's all Eugene. Being a prince is just a little... Bonus? Edmund never shuts down Eugenes past struggles — and doesn't expect him to want to be king, I think it's nice he still gets to be Eugene except now with added family and answers to questions he probably never thought he'd be able to find!

Also!! Credit to Uma for this find! No time like the past has a little Easter egg which shows Edmund had sent money / support of some kind for his son, before he lost track of him!! Sure it's a Season 3 ep, so it's not foreshadowing but... It's a nice tidbit.

Dark Prince Eugene is a twist I like! It explores loyalty to birth family & duties nicely, while not interfering really with the character Eugene already had. Sure, things could have been done differently but... I don't think it was terrible?

Let the man be a prince! Good for him! He already had everything he wanted and gets to build on that!! I wish more had been done with it, but I'm glad he's loved and supported through this revelation!

1. What was your favorite moment from the finale?

THIS UwU

Varian playing an instrument had been a personal headcanon of mine for a long time (especially piano because the piano was the first instrument I learned how to play and is still my favorite - and well, this is just a dream come true!)

That and well, from the more important moments of the Finale, I loved Rapunzel cutting off her own hair, such a power move and a testament to her character growth. (Though I still believe she forgives too easily sometimes, but I guess for the time they had to pull everything off, I’m not blaming the writers, just the Mouse House :/ )

16. What’s an episode plot that you wish we’d gotten to see?

Imma say it. More Varian in season 2. I would’ve loved an episode with him and how he’s doing in jail. Some shenanigans with Ruddiger, failed escape attempts, just being miserable and spiteful, a bit angsty and edgy, but in a funny way (it is a Disney show after all), and then at the end of the episode, after his failed attempts and him maybe starting to think that he was wrong and that he should just give up and make piece with his fate, we’d see a glimpse of Andrew and get some coy, slimy line from him trying to manipulate Varian and turning him back on the rebellious path. Just a tiny foreshadowing of Rapunzel’s return, that would’ve been satisfying >:3

21. If you’re a content creator, what is your favorite piece of content you’ve made for TTS?

Oh gosh, I think maybe this one?

It’s something I worked really hard on, and really paid attention to the details and little easter eggs (and it’s connected to my Adoption AU comic, which I love so dearly).
