My wife, Penny: *while sleeping, suddenly puts her hand on my arm like she has something important to say*
Pen: "Do you know where I put my snakes?"
Me: "Uh, no, I haven't seen them. When was the last time you saw them?"
Pen: "Sunday. I think?"
Me: "How many do you have?"
Pen: "20"
Me: "Oookay... Are they dangerous?"
Pen: "I don't remember."
Me: "I'm worried for Sonya"
Pen: "It's ok, they like postcards."
Me: "Eat them or read them?"
Pen: "They like to read them."
Me: "Who is sending them postcards?"
Pen: "I think they're from asian people, but not sure."
Me: .... *not sure how to respond*
Pen: "I hope we find them soon. I already checked the onion bag."
Me: "Ok? Anywhere else?"
Pen: "In the pants drawer."
Me: "Anywhere else?"
Pen: "In the house."
Me: "The basement?"
Pen: "Yeah."
Me: "The attic?"
Pen: *thinks* "Not yet. I'll check tomorrow."
Me: "So what kind of snakes are these? What should I be looking for?"
Pen: "There's all kinds of types."
Me: "Do any of them have names?"
Pen: "I can't remember any right now."
Me: "So should I just go around the neighborhood shouting 'snakes! Come here, snakes!'?"
Pen: "Yeah, they like that."
Me: "Do you have any pictures? I could make some 'missing' posters."
Pen: "No, that's dumb."
