Meet DARCY ALLEN. They are THIRTY years old and hail from ALBERTA, CANADA. Darcy embodies the constellation, PERSEUS. They use she/her pronouns. Their faceclaim is ANTONIA THOMAS.
Perseus reminds me of bare feet in the grass, well-read paperbacks, the smell of fresh-cut grass, sun shining through leaves, worn running shoes, backwards ball caps and muscle shirts, natural beauty, half-finished mugs of coffee, a cabin in the mountains.
Darce grew up in a small community of witches in a hippy-dippy town nestled in the three sisters (a trio of peaks in the rocky mountains), named for the witches who founded them hundreds of years ago. Though their community was comprised of witches and wizards of all elemental magic, they tended to primarily attract those gifted with earth magic. which always made sense to darcy, considering they were surrounded by nature and wildlife.
Despite this, darcy had a pretty average childhood – learning how to work the land, identify plant specifies, befriend wildlife, and intermingling with like-minded humans who lived in near-by neghborhoods. sure, she was surrounded by magic (like the charm used to endear her to her companion blossom, a yamnuska wolfdog), but what darcy most remembers of her childhood is summers spent in kayaks and canoes with her brother and rounding up the local kids to play a game of pick up sports ball until the last bit of sun left the sky.
Perseus appeared on her inner forearm when she was fourteen years old, but she didn’t actually get her first taste of magic for another few years when she was rock climbing free hand and lost her footing. it wouldn’t have been a broken bone (or four), certainly not a death sentence, but in her panic, she manipulated the rock supporting her to catch her food before she could fall. it was… pretty awesome, and though it wasn’t life or death it’s still one of her favorite stories to tell to this day.
Family has always been super important to darcy, and while she’s always looked at the community as a sort of extended family, at darcy’s core it’s always been her mother, brother and herself against the world. which is why she never planned on leaving. seriously! and honestly, she probably wouldn’t have if it weren’t for women, and their unique ability to make her so gosh darn weak. she fell in love for the first time when she was 16 and was so singularly focussed on the relationship, her mom started making amends with the fact that she’d have to say goodbye to darcy soon enough.
Seven years later, darcy would be packing up her things to move stateside with a woman she was certain would be the love of her life. spoilers, she wasn’t, but she is the reason darcy found her way to polaris so for that she’s pretty thankful.
Her buddy blossom lives in the woods outside of campus, and darcy can be found most afternoons under a tree reading a book and sharing snacks with her canine pal.
Perseus, in a hilarious turn of events, chooses to sponsor only those who are gifted with earth magic. Specifically, the constellation blesses those with exceeding ability in dealing with... you guessed it, rocks. It’s a reference to the legend of Perseus and Medusa, and the stars think they’re hilarious, but Perseus usually chooses an exceptionally gifted fighter and protector.

Exes and Ohs: this could be the ex she moved to polaris with, or someone else entirely tbh. darcy is a serial monogamist who wears her heart on her sleeve and tends to fall into committed relationships as easily as she seems to fall out of them. she is the definition of uhaul lesbian and we hate her.
Oh Brother: younger or older, idrc my only requirement is that he and darce are tight. they know exactly how to get on each other’s nerves and this often leads to prank wars and ultimately wrestling. they are children. i’m sorry.
Book Club: sometimes they pick a book to read and discuss, more often it’s just a group of well-intentioned nerds sitting around drinking wine and talking about the books they read instead.
