hi! i was interested in commissioning you next time you open commissions, and i had a couple questions, if that's okay. 1, when would be a good time to see if commissions are open? 2, if i was interested in commissioning a full body drawing of a couple, would it be possible to add a very simple background for extra money? 3, not a question but i just wanted to say your art is very lovely :)

1. im not great at having a consistent commission schedule - your best bet might be to turn on notifications for when i post on tumblr although im also planning to give people a heads up next time (like ‘comms opening in 3 days on x date y time’)

im in the EU so hopefully thatll help folks in distant timezones be able to catch the window

2. it depends on the background! i dont do them very often (i should djfdfgdgf) so i wouldnt want to send you something i didnt think was decent, but it’s something im open to discussing!

1) I have a 3-year-old dog. He’s an absolute wild noodle and most people who meet him assume he’s still a puppy/junior. Nice excuse, but no, he’s just got some doggy equivalent of ADHD. He’s incredibly cute though (I mean, which dog isn’t? But even for a dog, he’s extremely cute. The first time our local Italians saw him, they shouted after us: che bello!).

2) I suck at almost all sporty activities I can think of. Speed walks with the said dog are the maximum I’m capable of. There were once times when I hoped it might change, but they’re long gone now.

3) I’m turning 31 soon and I still feel like if I was fresh out of high school. It’s like if since I was ca. 16 my brain stopped registering the passage of time and was now mixing everything into one, ‘adult life’ category. Yes, I see the 16-year-old me as an adult (meaning: a reasonable creature, not necessarily someone with a job).

De Rotterdamsche Oude. It’s a typical Dutch cheese, with an exceptionally good taste.

Cheese shop cheese. Technically the brand I just mentioned is a type of “cheese shop cheese” because you can only find it in a cheese shop (and not in supermarkets), but I thought it deserved its own mention haha. Anyway, cheese sold in cheese shops is generally a lot better than what’s sold in (Dutch) supermarkets. The shops sell a lot of different cheeses, but I don’t know all their names!

Goat’s cheese. Again, I don’t know a brand name. I love goat’s cheese, just as long as I don’t eat a lot of it for a long time.

Old Amsterdam. Kind of the best cheese you can find in a Dutch supermarket -- but absolutely not as good as the cheese you find in cheese shops.

Port salut. I’m not a big fan of French cheese because a lot of them are mouldy (which is kind of disgusting to me, ahah). But I really like port salut from time to time!

A little disclaimer here: I haven’t read a lot of English classical literature. In fact, I barely read any at all because I was focused on Dutch literature instead! Considering this is rather a broad question, I’ll assume Dutch classical literature is okay too ;)

Mina and Lucy from Dracula. The only relationship in English classical literature that I’ll mention, haha. I absolutely love them! I know women in the Victorian era could be a lot more close without being frowned upon than now, but honestly I really ship them. There are some really sweet scenes in which Mina describes Lucy, too, which rather sets the tone for some later plot points.

Eva Eldersma and Frans van Helderen from De Stille Kracht. (A Dutch book, sorry!) I really love their relationship. It feels very original, and the two characters are very much equal in this romantic attraction that never quite becomes an affair -- which is rather special for a book published in 1900.

Katadreuffe and Dreverhaven from Karakter. (Dutch.) One of my favourite relationships from one of my favourite books -- this time the complicated relationship between a son and his father. There’s a constant push and pull between them, with the father clearly being in the wrong, and it’s just great to watch. Well, read.

I think I’ll leave it at this because it feels kind of pointless to list a lot of books that practically no one on here knows, lol. But thank you for the question! I think it was very original and I really appreciate it :) it was fun to answer!

Let's see... three facts about myself.

I frequently (a few times a year) have random periods of time in which my knee starts to hurt for no reason. It's annoying, but also rather funny because I partially turn into an old lady. Whenever I bend my knees someone has to help me get up because can't get up by myself lol.

I'm going to start a part-time job in September and I'm really excited about it! I got the call that they've decided to take me on yesterday!

I feel like my English pronunciation is terrible (I sound far too Dutch to my liking), but there just seems to be no opportunity to work on it. Nowadays I'm not around a lot of people who don't speak Dutch :/

Hey! I'm sure you sent this a while ago, but I'm going to answer and send it to people anyway haha.

1. I have a novel plot pinned to the cork board in my room.

...and I haven't written the story yet. I came as far as 7k words before getting distracted lol. I'm going to return to it, because I really want to write this story, which is exactly why the plot is still on my cork board.

2. My Pinterest is filled with character moodboards.

Some of them are from at least 4 years ago, too! I still pin to some of the old ones occasionally, and spent the last few days working on a new board for a story I'm currently developing. It's surprising to see how much Pinterest can help me find character inspiration sometimes :)

3. I have a huge stack of old vinyls I never listen to.

The classical half is pretty much the only part of the stack I listen to, but even those remain mostly untouched haha. Music just isn't my thing.

Cachi... persimmons... not a fan: taste like soap, fall and there’s gooey marmalade where you must tread. Am a fan: birds feast on the fruits seeds ignoring the bread I leave for them, Dog licks the fallen fruit for a vicarious shot of vitamin C. The later is important: during WWII and the famine in Italy, 6 eggs would but you 1 cachi. Dear they were. ANOTHER THING ABOUT ITALY... it mattered to@help the less fortunate so, and the law still stands, persons in need had the right to take any fruit laying on the ground. There was a dear little woman who lived above Il Poggiolo and regularly asked if she could come and gather up some cacchi. I offered to give her a case but Roberto said no, let her come and gather.
