Summary: Trying to thwart the political machinations of the upper echelons of Hell, Lucifer and Alastor enter into a mutual partnership. The boundaries get blurred over the course of a year as they continually have to work on 'making it work'. Nobody ever said that fake relationships would be easy.

A/N: I really enjoyed playing with the time jumps with this one. Kind of using en media res in order to reveal things slowly. Kind of like a mystery book. I also really enjoy examining relationships that may have more conflict but be more honest, and how that can actually be a good thing. ...In this case, way more conflict with these two.

Realized that the super awful antibiotic I had to take had a really lovely and unexpected benefit. It cleared my skin. No painful inflammation, no whiteheads, no redness.

I saw my face, just my face, for the first time since I hit puberty. It was.... so nice. It felt so soft and smooth. Just.... sigh

But the antibiotics only lasted for 10 days (and the other side effects were atrocious so good riddance) and now my face is "normal" again. Red, itchy, swollen, and full of whiteheads. Soon it will be flaky and scabby too.

I don't know...on one hand I kind of wish I didn't know it could be better, cause that's never going to be my reality.

On the other hand I am feeling vindicated that even though I wash my face, and keep my sheets clean, and don't touch my face, and eat as healthy as I can, my skin is just fucked up for bacterial reasons that I can't treat without super powered antibiotics.

It's not because of my choices and failings Mom, but thanks for making me feel worse about myself since I was 12.

You know, my stomach would be more or less hidden if the Chirrut cosplay happens, but this Donnie Yen obsession is making me gym harder than ever before. Gotta be fit to represent him. The first picture I saw after waking up this morning was a picture of the lovely Michelle Branch. It was a picture that she took of herself without makeup and she was holding a sign that said "#IAmNotCool(Honestly.)" She explained that it is part of an Instagram campaign called #WeAreAllUncool and along with the picture, you have to post a few things you are insecure about. She posts three things: 1. Her birthmark 2. Her body after she ha. Her daughter, Owen 3. Her bedroom wall as a teenager because it was covered in Hanson posters As a huge fan of Michelle Branch, it's funny that she posts about all these things because I loved her for these things long before she mentioned it. I mean who doesn't like Hanson? They were awesome. No one's body after childbirth is the same and I think she looks great, plus Owen is amazing! And I love that birthmark. It's what makes Michelle, Michelle. I feel like as a fan, that's just one of the things that we would recognize her on the street for because we know about it. If I had never seen what she looks like, her music would still be the same and that's really why I love her. Without a doubt, no matter what she says, to me, Michelle Branch is cool. Her music has helped me a lot and now, this, has helped me even more. We ARE all uncool. We all have insecurities. We can either do nothing about them and continue to freak out or embrace them and try to change how we think. Maybe it shouldn't be that "we are all uncool" but that "we are all cool." :)

it's basically the only thing i know that i'm good at that also produces something tangible

and that's one of the reasons i'm so desperate at people about writing and idk why i'm saying this but i've just been in a weird place about my writing recently and i really hope all of my posts about fic and writing and my desperate VALIDATE ME begging isn't putting anyone off

i calculate my worth in people's reception of what i produce. all i want is to make things for people that they like and for people to like the things i made on my own. and i'm probably way too desperate for everyone's approval for that to be at all meaningful

so idk i'm sorry i'm just...in a weird place and i don't like myself much. but thank you guys for putting up with me
