[continued] successful law students and actually find it really interesting having read 'letters to a law student' and 'what about law'. Should I mention that both my parents are lawyers or will this look as though I am simply following their profession in the hopes of joining "daddy's business" (which is NOT the case). Does it show that I know just how hard the profession can be? Should I mention that I used to be against but having done my own research have changed views?
definitely mention it, but in the way you said it to me. “I never wanted to be a lawyer, both my parents are, etc [not too personal but a bit]” and then what experiences convinced you that your initial impression was wrong. that’s a really interesting/different ps compared to most people, I think it’ll give you a unique perspective. Just be sure to strike the right balance between self depreciating and fun.
