My son is blue <3

I don't know if all snakes get this or if it's just a hognose thing but the day before his eyes go fully blue, the black patterning on his underside does. It goes away by the time his eyes turn blue, which I've always wondered why.

Just gave my snake a meal and he ate the weirdest way

Usually he investigates for a bit, then strikes and wraps. Standard for a snake.

This time he slowly nuzzled the rat, drew his snout along its stomach like he was stroking it, then slowly opened his mouth and bit.

Guess he's feeling lazy today?

Was cute though.

Hope it's just him being quirky and not a sign of anything bad. He had surgery recently so he may just be a bit off.
