Woe, Max Frost be upon ye
This is Maxwell, or Maxie for short.
Maxwell comes from a commedia that really isn't anything too special, with a low monster count and very little natural magic, to the point where it was a realm of urban legend. It was a life and world she was content with, but it would take a bizzare turn once she was contacted by a particular exploration team. Said team believed they had found evidence of worlds beyond their own, and letting her curiosity take control, she elected to become part of their efforts.
Unfortunately, it took a turn for the worst when the exploration team's methods turned out to be rather unstable, resulting in the death of at least 1/3 of its members and the rest of them being scattered across space. Maxwell got in a particularly bad spot, ending up in an icy wasteland devoid of human life, and clinging onto her own due to the crossing failure.
Stranded and alone, she assumed it would be the end of her, until she wandered across a particularly strange being- a white, sphinx-like shilouette that gave off a noise like static spoke to her. It offered a deal- for Maxwell to be under her servitude, but survive and travel the multiverse in the process. Pressed for time and with no other options, Maxwell accepted- getting from the exchange a new outfit, some power from her own, and a look past the horizon that would never be forgotten.
"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."
Remember phantasmicommedia, my divine comedy inspired game/story idea? I decided to design some monsters for the setting, with a group for each layer of the inferno! These are some basic monsters from limbo. From left to right, we have satyr, orthrus, standard-bearer, asp, and prester.
Did a redesign of my OC Alexander durante recently, pretty happy with how he turned out.
Don't worry, that isn't a pelt. Just his cerberus friend in a different form.
The Deep Reaver
Once human, but now much more phantasmic in nature, the Deep Reaver is a bizzare being that wanders commedias with unknown purpose.
At first thought to be peaceful by Maxie, said assumption was quickly proven wrong when it first laid eyes on her, and was driven into a fit of rage that continued into a hostile attack.
It's been a long time since I've posted anything mythology-related, so let me post some old drawings I never put out there
Here's my renditions of Jupiter and Juno, basically Zeus and Hera in my worldbuilding.
My rendition of Heracles, better known by his Roman name Hercules, from Greek mythology.
I wanted to capture a few different elements from his myths, such as the nemean lion pelt and hydra blood arrows, while also giving him my own touches and take on the god. His overall design was partially inspired by Guts from Berserk, in fact, with his armor meant to reference greek vase styles.
