The Pharmacist of Phantom Canyon from Phantom Manor was inspired by this sketch from Imagineer Ken Anderson, drawn back in 1957 for The Ghost House/ Bloodmere Manor project that will later became The Haunted Mansion.

In the new version of the ride, his head his transforming into a monstruous version of itself while driking one of his potions - this also reminds a lot of the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde mythos.

From Phantom Canyon road you meet the main highway at the junction of 81 and 67 right next to a historical marker and trailhead on the road to Victor, CO. Phantom Canyon is beautiful but after a couple hours on a bumpy gravel road I was ready to stretch my legs for a bit. Phantom Canyon Road is one of the most scenic and historic drives in Colorado, in the United States. Originally constructed by the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad in 1894, it connected Florence with the gold fields of Victor and Cripple Creek. The narrow roadway winds through the scenic canyon making use of rough-hewn, one-way tunnels, narrow gaps gouged through the mountainside and a distinctive curved bridge.

Took some time today to drive up phantom canyon, to cripple creek, down to Colorado Springs just in time to take our puppy on a walk at Garden of the Gods.🍁🍂♥️
