PHANTOM OF THE OPERA | US tour, 2026
i'm seeing phantom of the opera in less than a week. and i finally finished my sticker designs. i have one (1) express mission with these and it's handing them out to the cast members. i may or may not be manifesting seeing bronson as the phantom. (don't worry, i made a version of the team phantom for isaiah!!)
(i think these will be available in my ko-fi and etsy at the end of march :D)
The Phantom of the Opera North American Tour 2025 - Phantom's Deformity
First look at the Phantom's deformity in the new tour. Each actor is 3D scanned and apparently all have individual sculpts. Principle Phantom, Isaiah Bailey (pictured) does not have the enlarged lip on his sculpt. It will be interesting to see if any of the understudies do. While the lip deformity (especially the lower lip) has been increasingly rare in recent years, it still is featured on the World Tour. It is a favorite of mine, but it understandably makes the makeup more obnoxious to maintain.
This version appears to extend the deformity onto the right ear.
Makeup is beautifully applied and painted by the Tour's head of makeup, Ashley Roller (@ashleywigsmakeup on IG).
Was able to give this drawing to Isaiah Bailey yesterday I’m so happy 😩
Also first time finishing an illustration in months so wooo look at that hehe
tour! musings
Coming out of my cage and I’ve been doing just meh BUT myself and comrade @emotionalmotionsicknessxx caught the tour twice in Portland this weekend and will it heal me? We’ll see. If it doesn’t idk.
I’ll have a lot more to say on the pod. I loved it all. Midori Marsh is changing lives. Carrington Vilmont is finally fulfilling his destiny. Jordan Lee Gilbert is my living wife, sorry if that’s news to her.
The man Isaiah Bailey.
…do you know how good you have to be for me to forget about how I’d have liked to see Bronson and in fact we missed seeing him by like 3 ppl in front of us in the matinee rush line? Sure, I’m bummed we didn’t get into the performance where he went on but if any of that was lingering within me that evening, it was simply knocked out of me by the time first lair was in full swing. Just not possible to be watching and listening to this man and be anything other than…I’d say enchanted. On Friday I was sitting there thinking “wow…so…even on the…RIKter scale…this has to be…like…so this is actually what was being described in the original text, it’s this voice right here.”
Just immediately on the JOJ tier for me of “ok but this Rik is Built Different.” I got to see JOJ twice and I’m so glad I got to see Isaiah twice too, because he somehow sounded even better!? on Saturday, and our seats at that second show were better in such a way that I was able to really see and appreciate so many more of his subtle choices. I gotta stop forgetting to get seats on the right whenever possible.
I’m not NOT considering making a trip up to Seattle to clown there as well. I did miss seeing my Queen Lisa Vroman both times but I saw two different understudies for Madame Giry and they were both fantastic so I just can’t complain.
Lo these many years after seeing the show the the first time in junior high school, I still just felt so giddy and delighted at the Overture. Rounds 18 and 19, respectively, and it just looked and sounded as wonderful as ever. To me. I know there have been changes. I know. But I saw restaged last time it was here, and not yet being part of Phantom Of the Opera Dark Web I was like “oh…well. If that’s just the way the tour IS now…whatever people like, I guess? Oh, good. The real one is still playing in NY and London. Maybe I can go see it again sometime. Good to know it’s still out there.” This is close enough to the original for me, personally, to be more than fine, and that’s just me but I loved it. Five stars would recommend.
Gerard said in his speech during the last Mexico concert that TBP didn't die but has been somewhere for hundreds of years (in his opinion).
Well, just as I was browsing Youtube and trying to find videos from those gigs in Mexico, Youtube recommended me this 8 months old video that MCR posted when they announced the concerts in Mexico.
That news reporter is the same man who speaks before Disenchanted, right? But what else - he says:
"The band, known as The Black Parade, has never returned from their concert in Mexico City, having perished in flames in what was to be their final performance."
Then he says TBP is back and mentions His Grand Immortal Dictator.
IT WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME. I don't know if Gerard considers the underworld of this world to be hell, but technically you maybe could read "perished in flames" as them going to hell. Or maybe they escaped and fucking......... faked their death*.
Remember that The Black Parade has always been a band representing death, or Patient's death to be exact, and it would make sense that they can't die if they ARE death. One of my earliest theories about this was that DRAAG would be the underworld, tho now Gerard has also mixed in Mars and Martians but I don't know if those were just Gerard blabbering or actually part of this lore (I think he improvises a big part of the lore details while on stage lol).
phantom of the opera US tour it seems i have grown quite fond of you
spider ring and ironically worn catholicism paraphernalia included in order to increase susan kay awareness to lethal levels in the atmosphere of course
Isaiah Bailey is going to set the world on fire with his Erik. If you haven't listened to his concert performance of MOTN, look it up on Insta. The whispering, the vulnerability, absolute KING
