ATTENTION TO ALL PRESCRIBERS quit telling ur patients their prescriptions will be finished by the time they get to the pharmacy because 9 out of 10 times they will not be fucking finished!! like!!! imagine that u tell one patient it will be finished like okay easy it's just one script but imagine...u r not the only prescriber in the area!!! There are hundreds more!! And each one of u go "yeah coolio ur prescription? it'll be done by the time u get there" like um??? I don't think u work here buddy?? that's not how they work?? like u and a hundred other prescribers have now told each single patient that there prescription will be finished...and now they all come in waves cawing the same fuckin g line: "my doctor called in a prescription for me and they said it would be finished when I got here??"

Like lol okay I don't care what time ur doctor said itd be finished like if it isn't finished when u got here u can wait like all the other patients who were told the same thing or go fucking home JFC don't try to fucking demand I serve u in that fucking second like there's a hundred other people that are before u so fucking relax b/c if u needed that med that second ur doctor would have fucking given it to u or made a personal call to the pharmacy to make sure it was going to b fuckinn finished when u got there

MORAL OF THE RANT: BE PATIENT WHEN U GET TO THE PHARMACY N PRESCRIBERS STOP TELLING PATIENTS THEIR SCRIPTS WILL BE READY B/C 99% OF THE TIME THEY WILL NOT BE READY N WE HAVE TO DEAL WJTH THE ANGRY PATIENTS

Side note: if u r nice to ur pharmacy staff they will put 101% of their power into making sure ur script will b done in a reasonable amount of time and/or do it right away! BE POLITE Y'ALL

I am so tired of people yelling at me that my math is wrong. And I'm tired of trying to uphold a 'day supply policy' that just gets overridden by the Pharmacist for 'special cases'. And I'm ESPECIALLY tired of patients who walk into the pharmacy at 9:02, expecting their thirty some sync-fill meds to be ready when we open at fucking 9AM.

NO, my math is NOT wrong, there are TWENTY-EIGHT days in February this year. If you got a controlled medication on the 24th that month for a THIRTY day supply then you are DUE on the TWENTY-SIXTH of MARCH. From 24th of Feb to 24th of March is 28 days, plus 2 is thirty. WOW. That math is NOT hard.

"But you let me get it early in February!"

Not true. There were THIRTY-ONE days in January, so if you got your medication on the 25th of January for a thirty day supply then you are DUE ON THE TWENTY-FOURTH. WOW IMAGINE THAT. IMAGINE USING THE MATH I LEARNED IN GRADE SCHOOL FOR MY JOB WOW!

And I'm SICK of telling a patient the math only to say, "Let me talk to your pharmacist" and then the pharmacist says, "Welllll... it's four days early... If it goes through the insurance I'll fill it for you."

BACK ME UP. THIS IS A POLICY YOU PUT IN PLACE AS A WAY TO CUT BACK ON ABUSE OF DRUGS. GROW A FUCKING SPINE. WE WORK IN THE GHETTO SO ACT LIKE YOU CAN HANDLE YOURSELF.

And hey, Sync-fill patients, yeah we set up a date that YOU agreed upon to fill all your maintenance meds. THAT DATE NEVER CHANGES UNLESS THERE IS AN EXTRA OR LESS DAYS IN A MONTH. If you have THIRTY maintenance meds then DON'T scream at me through the drive up window about not having them ready right when we open! Guess when we fill the sync patients? AFTER THE QUEUE OF PRESCRIPTIONS WE RECEIVED AFTER HOURS OR WERE CALLED IN PREVIOUSLY. WE ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. GET OVER YOURSELF.

Can't come back later? WELL WHOOP DE FUCKIN DOO, WE DELIVER FOR FUCKING FREE.

So, yeah. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate that our HR is in the Phillipines? >_>;

Well, I hate it. Muchly.

I was trying to get myself reactivated so that I can work properly, and the stupid lady from HR didn't speak English very well (I call her stupid because I was told by our help desk what to say and do, and she treated me like I was stupid, and didn't know what I was talking about.)

Finally, I ask:

"Let me talk to someone that speaks English."

Cue an attitude from the lady on the phone, who suddenly knows how to speak it: 

"I think I've told you everything you need to know."

I get pissed. I ask to speak to the supervisor.

"There's no supervisors here."

So who the hell's running my HR then? :|

I dunno...

Seeing as how I work in pharmacy, I'm a bit perplexed. :/

Both my husband and I work for the same pharmacy retail chain (I work pharmacy, he works front store), but at different stores. Sometimes, I send my meds to his store's pharmacy, because of whatever reason -- either I forgot my money, or whatever.

But...

There's a new pharmacist at his store, and she downright REFUSED to give my husband my prenatal vitamins and birth control, stating I was 'calling the kettle black,' and that I was playing God.

...

Two things wrong with that. :/

A LOT of women are on both prenatals AND birth control. "Preconception," maybe? I take it as an additional vitamin, and because, yes; I want to have kids someday. Just NOT now.

As for 'playing God'... There are a LOT of controversial things in the pharmacy. Get over it. The pharmacist I work with is Catholic, and they sell stuff like Plan B just fine.

I normally post all my work-related crap @ A.I.R.P.H, but I feel like ranting today. ~_~;

For the love of anything that's right, people: do NOT call 1 minute to close, and expect me to stay twenty minutes late just so you can get your goddamn Flonase, or birth control -- something you can live WITHOUT. Honestly, you had ALL DAMN DAY to come pick up your shit, especially when you know the pharmacy closes at 5 on weekends.

...

Am I just too heartless? :/ I've been busting my ass all day with a sick pharmacist, and was quite ready to get the hell out of there. Not to mention, we're overbudget, and I can't afford to stay late.
