I don't have any hard evidence, just my intuition picking this up. But I think my male pharmacy manager (presumably straight and cisgender) would better listen to us telling him we need a rotation in place, we need to consistently be finishing the first two columns of fill (due in 30min and due in 2hrs) if the ops manager/pharmacy tech lead was a man telling him this.
Saw someone's username on Snapchat that was "Ohmyhole" and read it as "Omeprazole", so yeah, I've been working too much.
Just a quick vent about work: I'm jealous of the new hires because they're just being given the opportunity to learn all aspects of the job, but me? I had to fight and ask again and again for months to learn certain aspects.
Not gonna take my jealousy out on the newbies ofc because that's not fair but like damn where was that when I kept being told it wasn't a good time for me to learn.
I hate studying
My mom works as a pharmacy tech, so she had to memorize the names of pretty much every medication. So now whenever we are watching a TV show, whenever they mention the name of a medication my dad and I look at her like
If you, as the customer, brings up politics and how the President is going to "bring medication prices down" and "have us be like every other country with lower healthcare costs," don't be surprised when I engage in debate with you. Idk why you would support that pedo anyways.
Pharmacy Things (details changed for privacy):
Customer calls on behalf of their spouse, wanting Spouse's migraine medicine. Look through their profile, Spouse has no active prescriptions and no refills. I tell the customer that. This dude responds "can't I just buy a few over the counter? That's what I usually do." NO it is a prescription only medicine. I transfer him to the pharmacist, and she tells him the same thing
A month later, same customer calls for the exact same thing.
Had a prescription sent in but the name was something like "Jane Doe Baby Kim" with a recent date of birth (like 02/02/2026), where Jane Doe was the mother I think?? But we can't fill prescriptions like that.
Medications be like
"This one used to be for Big Sads but side effect was Heckn Sleepy so now it's for sleep unless it's for depression then idk"
"This one is a blood pressure medication. Do NOT mix it with Aspirin. Unless your doctor says so"
"Honestly we have no idea why this one works for seizures but it does, put it in your mouth"
"This one is a capsule with a pill in it DO NOT. Take The Pill Out."
