A conversation I had this morning:
Background: I work in a plant pathology lab and was working with phenol and chloroform this morning so I was wearing a lab coat and gloves. Said lab coat is from graduate school and is long and closes off-center and if it is buttoned up properly, is like a turtleneck
*me happily working away in the hood with my phenol and cholorform where there is a knock on the lab door, I put everything down and walk to the door.
Man (not sure if he was from the university or a sales rep but he is well dressed): *he looks me over and takes a step back: Why are you dressed like Dr. Frankenstein?
Me: *Laughing hysterically*
Man: Like you know the movie... the doctor not the monster wears a lab coat like that. What are you doing in here? I thought *My PI's Name* only worked with plants?
Me: *Calming down*: Sorry, I don't mean to laugh but when I first got the coat, I said the same thing... And we're still working with plants. I'm just using toxic chemicals. Can I help you?
I did in fact say the same thing upon receiving the coat in Glasgow. At the same time my one flatmate also received his and the two of us were in the kitchen arguing about which one of us was the mad scientist. Our other flatmate called us something in French that I know can translate to: You both are the dumbest smart people I know.
And I love withing my Dr. Frankenstein coat around because people either think I'm doing something crazy, am crazy or am in charge.
Phenols are aromatic organic compounds. As antioxidants, they play a huge role in defending our organism from harmful free radicals, which cause diseases, by neutralising them.

Quinones are a class of organic compounds that are formally "derived from aromatic compounds [such as benzene or naphthalene] by conversion of an even number of –CH= groups into –C(=O)– groups with any necessary rearrangement of double bonds", resulting in "a fully conjugated cyclic dione structure".
They are usually formed by the oxidation of the corresponding phenolis compound, just as in case of hydroquione (phenol) and benzoquoinone as seen:
