Sigmund Freud — The Uncanny
I am so inspired by this subject but have no motivation to refine it into an essay.
Who or what is your PRIORITY?
I must decide whether to change my priorities or to change myself. I know what I’m capable of and I know once I get comfortable again, I don’t like the outcome. I changed my priorities because I thought it was a mutual understanding, but when ones priorities changes, it’s a matter of what I need to do. When you build yourself up to that point of no return, I’m afraid that I’ll be disappointed. I would prefer to change my priorities but it means changing the way I am now. Not necessarily go back to whom I was, just accept the fact that I’m no longer their priority. This is exactly what Martin Heidegger a famous German philosopher wrote about in his book, “Being and Time.” He feels that we were born into a world of quiet conformity. Why do we have to live that way he asks? In this age we all tend to follow directions and that’s where we lose ourselves. He also mentions that our culture hides the process by which ‘they’ have quietly relieved us of the ‘burden’ of making choices for ourselves. So you need to ask yourself WHO AM I? Initially we are creatures of our genetic make-up and cultural conditioning. And if we do not notice our conformity and find ways to retrieve our beings, we will remain in our culturally given, inauthentic selves all our lives. However, in addition to being a product of human culture, we are also our powerful and pervasive internal threat-to-being. On this foundation, we can begin to construct our Authentic Existence. We must revive our ontological anxiety; we must keep it alive, not allow it to die away into comfortable obscurity once again. Instead of letting our being-towards-death fade back into the diversionary small talk of the ‘they’ we must focus our lives around this ‘threat’. We must purify, we must refine and integrate what keeps us pre-occupied and fragmented existence. We are empowered to choose our authentic projects of being. Returning to this deepest truth of our being can bring us back to ourselves.
Broken Dreamcatchers.
Whats the physcoanalysis to my physcoanalysis? Whats the underlying notion about why i do the things i do that i myself dont recognize?wheres the subconscience to my oh so conscience mind? Do others notice? Or can others only identify base opinions? Are their opinions leven 1 shallow conveinent conclusions? or level 2 multi-dimensional everything taken into account answers? Like how i view my opinions? Do people have the time to view others that way? Do i always view others that way? Or do i only have the time and effort to figure out my means? Does it take monologues of self gratification for people to understand why youve done the things youve done? At that point, who are you trying to convince? And too, and that point who are you trying to convice? I dont know if others track their own social patterns using tactics of plaing the untypical in the typical or placing themselves in the same situation over and over to not change, but mature the never predictable but always there reaction. Even if that means its a change of hearts. I give up easily on the poeple who walk away. I dont know who im protecting though. Me form them or them from me. I could say im protecting me from me. But I dont. Ive just made level with how i feel and what i do about it. Nothing. Diluted my hate with indifference. Also known as replacing my "i still care" with "im not going to let myself. Why is that so easy? I dont know if thats helping or hurting anymore. But i dont care.
