No Big Deal || Elli & Forte
It was almost bittersweet being back in Leuda. Though a change in training scenery was welcome. After successfully defeating two minor monsters in the mines, she underestimated a Hobgoblin and walked away with a fair-sized gash in her arm. It wasn’t bad (by her standards), but just below the shoulder and deep enough to be an issue with continued movement.
Unfortunately, she had forgotten how impossible magic was there. Perhaps a stronger mage could get by, but she only learned basic healing magic, and was never that good at it to begin with. Her full first-aid kit was nowhere to be found as well, either falling out of her bag, or forgotten at home.
A quick search yielded gauze from the bottom of her bag, which she folded up and secured tightly to her wound. The bleeding stopped momentarily with sufficient pressure, which she thought was okay as long as it didn’t soak through her sleeve. Besides, she still had errands to run on the island.
Of course, as the adrenaline subsided she started feeling increasingly lightheaded, though she attributed it to hunger. She sat at a nearby bench, rifling through her bag for something to eat before noticing the throbbing pain in her arm, and her cloak sticking to her sleeve a little.
“Shit,” she muttered, peeking underneath as more blood soaked through. Anyone else would head straight to a clinic, but she instead she sat there with her free hand putting more pressure on the wound, while searching with the other hand in her bag for anything else she could use as a gauze substitute.
