Graduating, no more #piccline I will miss my nurses. They changed me, the were my angels for months #nurses #chicken #strongwomen #happyday (at Buffalo Hospital, MN)
Rolling back and fourth all night; tomorrow at 8 am a nurse is coming to take out my #piccline . It's been my lifeline for the past 6 months, but holy fuck will it feel good to be gone. I haven't been able to go a day without a stranger asking me what it is/what it's for (as if it became the world business). Every shower required wearing a full arm sleeve as to not get it wet and ruin the adhesive. Every couple of days the nurse came to change the adhesive dressing. 6 fucking months. I can't believe I made it....turning from victim to survivor one day at a time. #ftm #transgender #phalloplasty #phalloplastycomplications
Saline flush, Ertapenem, saline flush, heparin-- IV at home antibiotics all in the #piccline Shoutout to mom for never letter her fear show, always being up for the next challenge, and never giving up for or on her son. This post isn't for you guys, it's for me. So I can look back and never forget what she has helped me with, or what we've been through as a family. I'm not complaining, I'm overly optimistic. This morning I found 2 GREAT surgeons at my home, at UCSD. I have a really good feeling about this. 120 miles in the backseat of my moms car sounds SO much better than a flight and hotel in SF. Fingers crossed, I think my fingers are permanently crossed at this point, that this will be our next team. So Caydz, when you take the time to reflect on your life, (insta helps because my memory sucks and she's already been doing this for a month and a half ) remember to thank your mom for being superhuman. #phalloplasty #phalloplastycomplications #transgender #ftm #ertapenem #antibiotics
Everyone say Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, I disagree-- I love keck USC! If you've walked around USC with me, I promise we would run into at least one person we know. And they all say "Cayden....AGAIN!?" So right now, this is my happy place. I am in a great please right now emotionally. Surgery on Tuesdays, fingers crossed! #ftm #phalloplastycomplications #phalloplasty #piccline #superpubiccatheter (at Keck Medicine of USC)
Wait...wasn't I here last week? I've learned to count my blessings and brush off my misfortunes. Yes I'm back in the hospital, and yes, that's nothing but blood in my #superpubiccatheter , and yes I still have a #piccline and an #ileostomy --plus a random drain behind my scrotum. BUT for this moment at least, that doesn't matter. What matters is that I'm alive. Like I'm mother fucking surviving this shit. Life, keep throwing shit my way, I don't think, I KNOW I can handle it. And if I can handle this, without ease, but with grace, then I know life is only uphill from here. #ftm #phalloplastycomplications #radiatingpositivity (at Keck Medicine of USC)
They thought they could break me, but it ain't over yet. 21 surgeries deep and everyday I'm still fucking fighting for the basic ability to piss and shit on my own. I'm fucking out this bitch! I've still got the #ileostomy , but new additions include a #superpubiccatheter (that bag of piss tied to my leg), and a #piccline . I'm terrified, because that is a direct line close to my heart. Mom/ @theycallmerc will be taking turns injecting antibiotics in those two little tubes for at least the next 2 weeks. I may be in pain, I may be depressed, but never without a smile. #phalloplasty #phalloplastycomplications #ftm (at Keck Medicine of USC)
