I walked my ass outside to set up and take these silly photos one early winter morning (it doesn't snow where I'm from), and I remember giggling like an idiot while doing so, so this is a happy memory and not just an attempt to cope using silliness ) :)
I have a picnic basket, can I tear Mercy away from work long enough to have a picnic with me?
Sure! Thanks for asking ^^
Ever since coming above ground, Mercy has kept an eye on everything. Their monsters, the humans, everything. They didn't want a chance for anything to go wrong. They wanted their people to have food, without having to hurt or kill any humans.
Luckily, things have been working well, the only issue is all the paperwork and how so many humans are scared by the monsters.
Mercy didn't think it was that fair, since it was a human that caused them to look like this… Sort of.
Today they sat, writing on some papers when they heard the door open, "if it is more paperwork," they started, "I need time to finish this. Wait." They didn't mean to sound aggressive. They were just tired. They've been working a lot.
"Well… No, not paperwork, just little old me." They blink and turn their head to see you! You smile, holding up a basket as you say, "I wanted to see if you'd like to go on a picnic with me?"
Mercy stares at you for a few seconds, thinking. They knew that they had to work, but they've been working all day! They were tired. "I'd like that." They smile and reach over to grab their cane, slowly pushing themselves too get up out of their chair. "Thank you for coming to get me, Y/n." They could never say no to you! Well… They could, they just didn't want to.
So this week was much better than last week in terms of loneliness and homesickness, but not having school on Monday has been throwing me off all week because it feels so short.
I went to the Honors College Tailgating event last Saturday, and it was more fun than I had originally though it would be even though it was raining and pretty ugly outside I ended up helping them hand out free hot dogs and chips to the other tailgaters and then helped move everything back inside when we ran out of food. I think I ended up earning about one and half hours of community service on accident by doing that, so that was pretty cool.
Most of the actual week was just going to classes, though I did get my first essay assignments from my Stats class and Quest. The stats essay seems pretty easy, since it’s only a page about GDP and GNP, but Quest has me a bit worried. I have to write a two page max argument analysis essay on a portion of Gogias by Plato, which wouldn’t be that big of a problem if 1. I knew how to write an argument analysis and 2. If Socrates could, for once, say what he freaking means the first time.
I also have my first quizzes next week, so I’m a little worried about those. There’s only about two weeks of information for my professors to test me on though, so it probably won’t be as bad as I’m expecting. (I hope)
I also got to attend a get-to-know-you picnic for Speech and Debate today, and honestly the more I learn about it, the more excited I get. So far, the events that sound the most fun are Poetry and Prose Interpretation, because I get to select a piece or multiple pieces and use them to form a story that I then get to essentially perform for an audience. It seems really interesting, so I’m going to do a bit more research on it before next week’s meeting so I can ask more questions about it.
I think that about covers this week, so now I need to stop procrastinating and work on those essays *cries* kill me.
