Ship that you find cute but don’t ship: ✌

Most of the stuff with characters from the trio era, honestly.  There are a few pairings that I outright dislike with that lot, but most of them I’m like “aww look at those cute babies.”  Maybe it’s because HP didn’t come out until I was in high school, but I’ve never really identified with anyone in the trio era.

So, like, I guess I think Ron/Hermione is kind of cute, I guess?  But I don’t really ship it because those just aren’t characters I ship often.

    ✧ —– Sirius was the first Black anyone could remember that had not ended up in Slytherin, but he was certainly not the only one to give the Sorting Hat a pause.  His younger brother, only a year later, had sat beneath the ratty old hat for longer than average while the Hat debated calmly between the same two houses it had debated between for the elder Black brother.

But in the end, the Hat made the choice it should have for Sirius ( as far as Regulus and most of the rest of his family was concerned ), and Regulus found himself sitting at the Slytherin table.  He was conflicted -- of course he wanted to be in the same house as his big brother, but on the other hand...well, it would be much less trouble this way.

Regulus watched the rest of the sorting quietly, nodding politely at his other housemates as they joined him at the table.  He did not look at the Gryffindor table, because Sirius was making weird faces at him and trying to get him to laugh.

The boy who sat next to Regulus was called Evan, according to Professor McGonagall, but Regulus wasn't sure if he should introduce himself or not.  He hadn't heard of the Pettigrew family before, so they probably weren't purebloods, and if they were, the Blacks were far more influential anyway.  That meant he didn't have to speak to him if he didn't wish to, but...that also seemed rather rude.

Gilderoy had been aware of the gaps in the stone walls that made up the castle, but he had assumed there were some measures in place to keep pests out. But apparently not.  He would have to go to Dumbledore about this first thing.

Well, second thing.  The first thing was to stand on his desk chair and let out a shriek of terror, trying to hone in on the awful little thing with his wand.
