The Pirate Master’s quarters were poorly-lit, and indeed seemed to hungrily swallow all light that entered. It was more than fitting for such a massive being of dark magic.
Risky had seen this room more often than most others under the Pirate Master’s employ, but the room still gave her the chills. It was, generally speaking, not a good thing to be summoned. All the same, she did her best to keep her composure. “You requested my presence, Captain.”
“Aye.” The large, skeletal creature was already glowering at her. “Ye reek of light magic, Boots. What are ye doin’, gettin’ so close to genies...?”
He's certainly getting right to the point, Risky thought. “Trying to get information. And fighting them, of course.” She pointed to her slashed cheek. “Got into a rather fierce fight with one just the other day.”
He stooped down and roughly grabbed her chin to tilt her head, examining the scratches more closely. “Didn’t realize genies were getting physical, now.”
“Her magic lets her take the form of various animals, Captain.”
“So, ye didn’t even kill her.”
“I barely escaped with my life! I’m lucky those scratches are all that she landed!” Risky spat, jerking her head away.
After a moment, the Pirate Master sighed and turned away. He pinched the bridge of his nose - or, at least, where it would have been if he still had a proper face.
“Ye know... I’d like to think of meself as a good captain. Right there on the front lines of this genie war with the best of my men, givin’ ‘em the strength they need to become the best they can be.” His hand dropped. A sinister smirk twitched its way onto his face as he turned back to her. “Now, I’ve given ye that strength... and I can take it back.” He gestured sharply with a single, clawed hand.
Risky’s gut churned, and her body trembled as something began trying to claw its way out of her - crawling under her skin, threatening to come out in heaves up her throat - all while choking the life out of her. She dropped to her knees as she broke into a cold sweat, and it felt like every wound she’d ever received was opening up again, blinding her with pain. She dug her nails into the floor, trying to ground herself despite it all.
“The time for toying around with the genies is over. I want those wretched spell-slingers dead, Boots.”
The clawed hand relaxed, and Risky collapsed in a heap as the pain faded. She took in several sharp, hissing breaths.
“No more fooling around, aye?”
“... aye, Captain.”

I figure I should create alternate versions of Abner, Poe, Mimic, and the Pirate master.
Which should I draw next?
Pirate Master: Your honor, I would never kill out of anger. I killed that guy for sport.
Pirate Master: Ah, reminds me of the time I spent in shadow prison. Gotta say, highly recommend, the tubing was phenomenal!
Pirate Master: I was raised on a lot of principles - most of them necromancy.
