Okay, I thought the first Emma x Park fic was mostly a joke/crack ship, but I can't believe it's now actually turning into a thing. Please leave Emma alone. She doesn't deserve that.

Here are my unpopular opinions, in no particular order:

1. It was unprofessional the Samira’s mother kept calling her at work. She should have silenced her phone and sent her mom’s calls straight to voicemail. Even more so, it was incredibly unprofessional that her mom called the emergency phone in the hospital.

2. If your personal problems stresses you out to a point you have a panic attack at work, you probably shouldn’t be working that day. This applies to both Robby and Mohan. The entire thesis of season 1 is that Robby was emotionally compromised because of the anniversary of Adamson’s death and he should not have been at work. This applies to Mohan as well. She should have left after her panic attack and dealt with her mom.

3. Mohan let her personal life affect her work performance, which resulted in a lack of mentorship and support for Ogilvie (a med student on his first day) and the death of a patient. Robby pointing out her mistake in the moment is not misogynistic. She is a senior resident and made a mistake. Mistakes have consequences.

4. I think Robby was justified in being angry at Al-Hashimi for not reporting her seizures. It is a liability for the hospital and, as chief of the ER, he is responsible. I also think Al-Hashimi was justified in her reaction to Langdon stealing drugs because this is also a liability for the hospital.

5. One of the major storylines in season one is that the ER is understaffed because of budget cuts. Al-Hashimi’s first change she wanted to make is to hire another day shift attending. People act like Robby is the one who is blocking this improvement when we saw him having budget talks with Gloria throughout season 1. The hospital won’t hire more nurses let alone another attending. I think part of Robby’s anger and frustration is that he has advocated for more staffing. Al-Hashimi is new and is unaware of the on-going budget fight and her proposal seems very obvious and very naive.

6. For as much as people talk ad nauseam about how empathetic Mohan is, I don’t find her any more empathetic than Mel, McKay, or Collins. They just have different ways of relating to patients. In fact, I think putting way too much emphasis on how empathetic Mohan is hinders her character by making her less complex. I think this comes down to how fans talk about Mohan. People describe her as the most empathetic, the best doctor, the future of the ER, et cetera, which makes her character fall flat. In the first season, she was slow and focused on unimportant things like doing a patient’s make up. It would be way more interesting if they used that slowness as a negative to give her more depth instead of people using it to proclaim that she is perfect. Give her complexity. Give her inherent biases and weaknesses that cannot be explained away. Perfect characters are uninteresting. Having issues with your parent being the one “flaw” is boring.

7. Whitaker is another character that falls flat to me. He is someone that had potential to be very complex with his history but he ended up being pigeon holed into Robby’s emotional support resident or as comedic relief. I want him to make more mistakes and I want to explore his background through his inherent biases. I want him to have more depth.

8. In fact, I want the show to expose more of the doctors’s inherent biases. We see Robby’s inherent biases. We saw some of Langdon’s inherent biases hinted at when he worked on the autistic patient in season one. Javadi’s inherent biases are all on display and are mostly a product of being so young. These make characters interesting and real because humans are innately biased.

9. For me, the most complex characters are Robby, Langdon, and Santos because they are messy, imperfect, emotional, and entirely human. Al-Hashimi, I think, will be another complex character but I want to see what they do in season 3. Abbot has all the potential to be complex but he kind of has a knight in shining armor persona to him. Both seasons he has swooped in to save the day. Mohabbots also treat him as Mohan’s savior. He is the only one who sees how great Mohan is. He is the only one who appreciates Mohan, et cetera. Hopefully, in the next season we get to see more dimensions of both characters.

10. I don’t think what is said in interviews is canon. Sure it can give a little background for a character and lets you inside the actor’s choices but these details don’t exist for the majority of viewers who don’t take the time to seek out and read interviews. This includes cut scenes and parts of an episode’s screenplay that did not make it into the episode.

the way this fandom treats whitaker is sooo transphobic especially hucklerobby fans and no one talks about it. it's common to headcanon whitaker as a trans guy because of his stature but then I've seen art of him pregnant or in lingerie and always put in a feminized situation. as a trans guy myself it feels dehumanizing to dumb his character down like that!

if you're not okay with this then you better not be okay with hucklerobby either lol. I swear to god this fandom seems to have such a weird thing against WOC and framing it as "concern" like why can we not make content about anyone, whether it be Mohan, Emma, Santos, Javadi, etc, even Collins from S1, without people saying it's problematic? According to people on here, Mohabbot, Emma x Park, Garsantos, Javadi x McKay, and Rollins are all "bad." But every single white man ship is okay, regardless of how controversial they are (and I'm not even saying I'm against those ships! Just pointing out the double standard)

It seems like the problem is less about age gaps and more about WOC being more than just perfect little pure angels with no plots or stories of their own. If you want inclusivity you better accept it with your full chest, as in, let WOC be multi-faceted PEOPLE with flaws and interesting stories. Stop dumbing them down even in fan content for the sake of being "woke" because you're actually being less woke than you think, you don't include them in anything because you feel uncomfortable with their presence as fully actualized people and not just concepts. Just scroll and move on.

noah wyle just point blank said langdon’s marriage is STUGGLING. a win is a win, but we knew that. he’s even got the look of struggling this season. i need every doom posting kingdon to know that there was no way kingdon was going canon this season. this is STILL PROGRESS. we’ll see what happens at the end of season 3. that’s going to be telling. a ring doesn’t mean a happy marriage. we might learn that abby and langdon are seperated. sleeping in different rooms. mel king being a friend during this is perfect. friendship is the best basis for any romantic relationship.

Sorry, we're now supposed to cancel Fiona because she said McKay is "probably" straight? A character who...has only been shown to have interest in men, was "horny" and only mentioned men as an option last season?

Ship whatever you want to ship and realize most pairings are not going to be canon. It's not "homophobic" to think a character is straight when there has been nothing to suggest otherwise, even though an opportunity had been there.

people who insist on calling mel a pittling even though she's a 2nd year resident same as cassie in s1 drive me nuts. yet another way to act like she's a child. she's a caretaker same as cassie. she's gone through trauma same as cassie. she's been on her own for years same as cassie. she's not a fucking pittling.

The term pittling was started for the characters who started at the Pitt in season 1, Mel is one of those 4 characters. Mel is between 27-29 she absolutely would have more in common with the other pittlings than she would with Cassie too.

Also why are so fucking obsessed with hating Mel and calling her a child? Cause by your logic you’re also calling Whitaker, Santos, and Javadi children but you’re not hating on them for it. Make it make sense.

Can ask something? And don't want any hucklerobbys to answer. I find it weird that gerran dismissed the Amy- Whitaker romantic relationship. That makes the situation more interesting and that's pretty obvious what it is. Is he trying to not hurt hucklrobbies feelings? I'm so confused. They are so in denial and he just encouraged them by saying it wasn't romantic.

As a Hucklerobby fan I'm still gonna respond. I personally would like to believe it's because they might make him gay. And if they do I absolutely do not want him and Robby to get together in the show at all. But he is very queer coded between the religious shit it seems like he's trying to move away from, the family it seems like he doesn't talk to. Plus honestly, this show isn't supposed to be about romance. It's one of the best parts in my opinion.
