Kinda a pet peeve of mine when Rick Riordan makes his ocs the favorite children of Gods

I know it's not that deep but what reason would Poseidon have to love Percy more than Triton? And why was Hermes more devastated over Luke's death than his immortal son Pan's?

God!Grover

Did we ever adress the fact that Grover is a god? Is Grover a God? Did Pan naming Grover his chosen one make Grover a god? What about the empathy link? Does that make Percy immortal to or....?

I also feel witnessing a dying god should have had more of an effect on Percy and Co. or literally any effect.

Btw did anyone tell Hermes they found his son. And that he died. Because I don't wanna do it.

This isn't really a prompt more of a question but it would be interesting to see a fic where someone tells Hermes Pan's dead or Percy (or anybody else) deals with the fact that they saw a god, a supposdly immortal being, die. I feel like at bare mininmum Percy should of gotten Pan's blessing or Grover could have given Percy his blessing and what that would ential. I saw this one fic where a throwaway line called Percy the lord of wild waters because he worked with Grover on conservation efforts and it hit RIGHT!

so much talk of Pan in this episode makes me wonder if/when we do get s4 and the labyrinth does lead them back to Pan, will it take place near or in the casino instead of underground like in the books? it kind of does make sense, since time flows completely differently in the Lotus Casino and makes Pan’s fading hit so much harder because time has gone by much faster for him. he was basically biding his time to pass on too.

we saw Grover talk about the wonderful eccentricities of the animals in the beginning of the episode too, so it’s also not a far stretch to imagine species that should’ve been extinct chilling in the casino as well

Okay okay okay but to time the whole Pan situation in demonstrates (to me) that gods only have as much power as you give them. You think Zeus is the most powerful god? He is powerful, then. You think he’s a serial rapist with zoophilia and a misogynist, therefore not worthy of your respect and not powerful because those things make you a stupid-ass motherfucker? He’s gonna be that. People in the Riordanverse *need* to realize this. And honestly, it’s a fairly good representation of real life because powerful people only have power if you respect them. Once they lose your respect, they lose their power.

Ofc this is just a theory but it would be really interesting to see explore

im honestly convinced that nico goes and befriends all these obscure creatures and forgotten gods because of how he witnessed pan dying like i know pan didnt acknowledge he was there like he did with all the others and that too probably stuck with nico like the kid has such an outsider complex and he wants to group up the rest of the outsiders because of it
