Hi yes so I've been a Metroid fan for ten years, and you know. I've *just* gotten around to Prime in the past few months. And I'm used to the 2D games with stacking beams and the plasma beam being green and crackling energy right.
No one prepared me for how the Prime plasma is SICK
Anyway unrelated I think Samus should go mad with power once. As a treat 💜
Who would win?
Samus (Metroid Fusion)
Raven Beak (Metroid Dread)
Fight is to the death, so Raven Beak will not be sparing Samus's life.
Samus's Metroid DNA is under control, so it will not be flaring up in the middle of the fight and potentially inconveniencing her like it did with the Power Bomb EMMI or her physical amnesia.
Samus has all the items she could collect from Metroid Fusion.
Raven Beak has everything he has in his boss fights at the start and end of the game.
Personally, I think Samus could actually win this.
Sure, she loses in canon, but in the cutscene she displays far fewer of her items than you would expect her to possess. Keep in mind, she went to ZDR to investigate the existence of the X parasites, so you'd expect her to bring all of her items.
But in the cutscene she only seems to have her: Varia or Omega Suit, Plasma Beam, Super or Ice Missiles, and Hi-Jump. You could argue that she chose not to use the Screw Attack, but there's literally no downside to using it.
The battle also displays some moments of plot-induced stupidity. Once Raven Beak grabs Samus by the throat, she apparently forgets that she's wearing the most advanced powered exoskeleton in the galaxy and starts whacking him in the arm with her Arm Cannon instead of, you know, SHOOTING HIM IN THE FACE WITH IT.

Well in the Star Wars Universe they have a whole planet filled completely with junk. We may be on our way there if our plasma beam doesn’t do its job. lol
Plasma beam differences?
The "fire" based plasma beam of the Prime games was first designed by the Elysian Chozo. Inspired by stars, the heat energy is generated by highly controlled nuclear fusion. The weapon-holder's body is protected by the insides of the arm cannon, but it is still a risky weapon. Originally, this plasma beam was used in robot manufacture but it was found to be more useful as a weapon.
The plasma beam of the 2D series is based on an independently designed weapon created by the Chozo of Zebes and SR388. It works by passing electricity through gases and ultimately generating a powerful laser beam.

me and my friend BB are making some Metroid Prime beam patches! they were originally just going to be for me, but if people show some interest we might make more to sell! we’ve only tested the Plasma Beam so far but the other three will be completed soon(and will be on less bold fabric...)!
