this fanfic is genuinely so special to me. i started writing it almost a year ago now, specifically to explore headcanons and character dynamics i couldn't/didn't in my more canon-compliant hogwarts fic. some including...

The girls! this fic focuses on lily but also her friendship with marlene and mary and their dynamics.

Activist Marlene! not only her interest in women's lib and lesbian rights but the overall politics of the 70s.

Slytherin Sirius Black! in a muggle world where there's no magic hat for sorting, sirius gets put where his parents want him. the house acting as a cage. he's trapped, and he's really fucking angry about everything.

Lesbian Lily Evans! as a lesbian, i never miss a chance to make a character i love a lesbian. i feel like most times i see lesbian lily evans, it's a background thing. i wanted this to be a full exploration of her as a lesbian, and what that would mean for her.

Aromatic Mary Macdonald! i wanted to explore a character who is aromantic and deals with comphet. comphet is also a bit thing for lily in this fic. (also yes, none of the girls are attracted to men, sue me, i'm just writing what i know)

Pandalily! not just the ship, but also exploring pandora as a character and how her and lily would interact. but be warned, the ship doesn't really begin until year 13.

Lily stood still, looking from her hand to her eyes, waiting for a reveal that she was joking. None came, and thus tentatively Lily took her hand, shaking on it. “Okay, friends.” Lily agreed, surprised it was that easy. She wondered if that was how Marlene was, straight to the point. No nonsense, no anxieties.
