BearShifter!Price, DogShifter!Soap, CatShifter!Ghost and EagleShifter!Gaz...
Remember when i said that nobody in their right mind would keep a bear as a pet? well yeah.. Reader would.
After some screaming and crying. Because who wouldn't when seeing a grizzly bear in their living room?? Reader realized that the bear isn't doing anything. just staring stupidly.. Their new pets didn't really react to the bear either so where is the harm to keeping him?? he's just a fluffy silly guy!! surely he won't turn out to be one of those shifters they saw on the darkweb..
Keeping a bear was weird. but also fine..? The kitten slept on him a lot in the sun and the dog teased the poor bear a lot. But the eagle? He was trying to say something the whole time. Reader thought he just needed to go to the vet but the eagle just start attacking them when mentioning it!!
The bed getting heavy whenever the big bear laid on it, the kitten starting to get annoying and kept attacking the poor dog. The eagle being sad and just sitting somewhere doing nothing.
But it all ended one day when laswell called price. telling him to stop playing around and come back to base. So it means they all either run away during the night and leave the sweet reader all alone.. in their house.. in the dark- ORRR reveal themselves and scare the fuck out of reader. yeah.. guess which one they picked..
Trying to escape the night clearly didn't work, Reader woke up.. feeling their bed was empty. they went downstairs to look for their babies- just to find 4 military hybrid men in the hallway on a saturday night!!??
Inkmare doodle dump I don't think I've posted any of these
you know how pretending to be someone is whole Ink's life and Corrupt Nightmare is very leaning on Nightmare's personality and not really being itself most of the times
yes I'm keeping the "corrupt nightmare is not past nightmare" thing from the canon I JUST LOVE ELDRITCH SAD BEINGS and I'm treating it better than youknowwho. did
John ‘soap’ MacTavish who is the only person on the team who genuinely seems to validate you as a trans man. Not to say the others don’t support you or that they really care about it but Johnny just seems to treat you differently.
You’ve always found that the moment people finding out that you weren’t born biologically male that they tense. Most of the time it’s never malicious, just a want to get it right, a pressure they put on themselves to make you feel comfortable. A reminder you won’t ever be seen as what you truly are on the inside despite it being supportive.
But Johnny? When you tell him after he asks about the scars on your chest you explain. Your identity, the surgery and what does he do? He just nods and then carries on. Doesn’t stiffen like most people does, like you where exchanging hobbies instead of something that made most people work ten times harder to accommodate you.
It’s never brought up again, ever. Soap goes on about his days, still slings his arm over your shoulder when he’s tired, never asks any more questions about your transition or what it was like growing up trans like most people where morbidly curious about and it wasn’t that you necessarily minded people asking questions, you’d rather them come to you- someone who’d tell them the truth than go on and do/say something that would make all parties uncomfortable.
Yet Johnny? He makes you feel as though there isn’t a subtle shift in your relationship as buds and some part of it freaks you put because you’re so use to people being overbearing despite it coming from a place of kindness.
“You’re not curious about anything?”
you ask with the utmost caution one night where whiskey sits warm in your lower stomach, giving you the cigarette to question him woke the rest of the team have already retreated to their barracks because ‘you and Johnny are bastards when it comes to poker’
Johnny only looks up, face flushed from him drinking too much and he lets out a half laugh, that dorky grin spreading over his face as he shakes his head, either to clear his mind or help balance himself, you couldn’t tell with the way he was sat lounged over the chair looking like he was about to fall off.
“Wass it matter? If I’m confused I’d ask my brother, nd’ I did. So is cool.”
His toungue must feel like the size of a bowling ball in his mouth because the way he slurred over his words was just second hand embarrassing but it doesn’t stop you from tilting your head in confusion.
You knew Johnny hand quite a few sisters and a brother scattered in somewhere amongst the bunch of MacTavish siblings but you were still confused, he must’ve seen it because he let out a huff of fustration like what he said beforehand should’ve given you the hint.
“He’s trans. Female to male? S’ tha the right term, dunno but yeah.”
He clarifies with a shrug and a stupid expression you cant quite tell it’s supposed to be but the news delivers nonetheless and you sit back, surprised by his honesty and the casualty in it. Before he continues his slurring words.
“Was hard when I found out, must’ve been… fourteen when he told me? Just confused and stupidly young I suppose. Didn’t take away from the fact he was still him y’know? Just cuz he changed the way he dressed and got a few surgeries doesn’t take away from the fact he’s still got the same personality.”
It’s sweet, the way he explains it you can’t help but smile.
“We still played video games, still talked about girls n’ shit. Not like he turned into an asshole or anything. An assholes an asshole, don’t matter who they chose to be. So I love ‘im. Same goes fer you. Yer still my comrade.”
Now you couldn’t look at him because fuck the bastard for being so adorably sweet. You grab your whiskey glass standing up before he look up worried like he might’ve done something to make you leave. “Did I say something?”
“No. I’m passed my drinking limit m’ going to bed. You should too, sappy cunt.”
Platonic kisses on the top of the head with Frost, Gricko and Hootsie. Kiss your homies! And your found family!
Have a very nice day <3
Frost, Gricko and Hootsie have been a family since they day they all met. It was near instantaneous. Frost tried so hard to avoid it but the first night Hootsie put her head in his lap and fell asleep, and where ever Hootsie is Gricko is. So Gricko is sat next to Frost and as he slowly drifts off to sleep he slumps over on Frost.
Frost is stone still. But quickly realizes they already chose him. They’re not letting him go. Hootsie The Cutesy GrimGrin chose him, she said he was safe. And Gricko trusts her more than he trusts himself. They chose him.
Gricko starts muttering in his sleep.
“You leave ‘im alone! He’s barely a man! Get away from ‘im!” all while nuzzling closer to the warmth that is Frost’s fur.
It was almost instinctual, Frost softly placed a kiss on his forehead, and for a second a memory of his mother doing the same flashed across his mind. This is what safety felt like. It had been so so long.
He placed a soft kiss to Hootsie’s cheek. Feelings are so often complicated but as Hootsie quietly hooted in her dreams, and Gricko muttered and grumbled, Frost finally let a deep breath fill his lungs and a tear drip down his face.
This was more than friendship, this was family. At least the closest thing to it since his parents all those years ago. Frost leaned into the wriggling mess that was his family and for the first time in many many many moons finally rested.
Pairing: Todd Anderson x Neil Perry (aggressively queerplatonic)
Warnings: Main Character Suicide, Post Canon Death
Tags: Fluff, Angst
Summary: Todd joins his best friend for the last time :(
Notes: This is on ao3! I go by peterpeterpussyeater69 :) sorry for any young souls reading that username i thought i was funny
Todd was shy. Nervous. A ball of anxiety. Everyone knew it, and most people didn’t care. He dealt with it everyday, stuttering through presentations and asking questions, shaking and mumbling his way through life.
He tried everything to help - mint tea, practicing his “script” in his head, taking deep breaths. Nothing worked. He took therapy, practicing speaking clearly and confidently with his tutor. It didn’t help. Nothing eased the load of dread in his stomach, the racing in his heart, or the too-fast train of thoughts circling his brain.
By the time he was accepted to Welton, he knew he’d never get over his fears.
Until Neil.
He was everything Todd wanted to be - confident, loud, attention grabbing, brave. He never backed down, never let his smile drop, never pushed his burdens onto others, only helping them carry theirs. He was a bright light, the sun in a world of stars.
And Neil chose Todd to be his friend.
Why? Todd’ll never know. He was nothing like Neil. He was a shaking Chihuahua next to a golden retriever. He was a worm next to an eagle - and yet Neil didn’t eat him. He helped him, coaxing him out of his shell. He made him join the Dead Poet’s Society, which led to him meeting Charlie, Knox, all of Neil’s friends.
Todd finally was happy. His parents still didn’t think about him - they sent him the same desk set as last year - but Neil made him laugh then too, joking about flying desk sets and replacements and throwing it off the building. When Todd was forced to the front of Mr Keating’s class, embarrassing himself with a poem off the top of his head, Neil was there, gazing at him with an awed look on his face.
They were inseparable - Neil, the big and brave, and his shy sidekick. Nothing could tear them apart, everything brought them together.
Then Neil got his acting idea. Todd was all for it, until he was told Neil was going to forge a document from his father for permission.
Todd stared at Neil with disbelief, a smile still hanging lopsided on his face. “You're not gonna write it.”
Neil grinned and readjusted his typewriter. “Oh yes, I am.”
“Oh, Neil. Neil, you're crazy.” Todd couldn’t help but smile at the pure joy on his friend's face as he laughed and stamped his feet. “Okay. I am writing to you on behalf of my son Neil Perry. This is great!”
Todd had never felt so much love for one person. He loved Neil’s laugh, and he learned what jokes and jabs made him laugh harder. He loved Neil’s smile when Todd did something he usually wouldn’t, so Todd went out of his comfort zone more times than he’d like to admit, just to see that proud look. He loved Neil’s handwriting, so much so he would ask Neil to help him with homework, then secretly admire the way he crossed his t’s and dotted his i’s.
He went to Neil’s play, and could barely hold back his proud smile. Sure, Neil’d defied his father for this, and Todd was nervous for him, but he knew this was what Neil wanted. His own life, planned by him and him only, with no interference from his father. If it were anyone else, Todd would have talked them out of it, but Neil would never let himself live if he didn’t do this once.
He watched Neil sweep around the stage, delivering his lines like he had eaten the script and it was coming out of him now in steady streams, confident and natural. He smiled as his last stanza was said, no, let out was the right word - it was like Neil had consumed the sun and let it out for everyone in the audience. He infected them with his love for theatre, and the Dead Poets found themselves grinning almost harder than Neil himself.
Todd was the first one to stand and clap for his friend. “YAWP!” He screamed with the rest of the Poets, smiling as bright as the sun. Neil was grinning at him, and they locked eyes. Neil nodded to him, and Todd whistled.
He was in love, and he knew it. Not the way a boy loves his mother, or his best friend, or even his brother. He loved Neil like a soulmate - not necessarily romantic - but he knew Neil would be there forever, when they were old and gray. He knew Neil would keep him on his toes, and he knew he wanted that. He wanted a life with Neil by his side, and he didn’t see any reason why he wouldn’t get that.
Todd watched Neil get dragged through the crowd by his father. He was in trouble, Todd knew. His father wasn’t supposed to be here, but he must have been suspicious of him.
“Neil! Neil!” Todd called, reaching out for his sleeve. It slipped right between his fingers like butter.
Keating grabbed Neil and spun him around to face the aging teacher. “Neil. Neil. You have the gift. What a performance. You left even me speechless. You have to stay with-”
Mr. Perry snatched Neil away. “Get in the car.” He pointed an accusatory finger at the bewildered English teacher. “Keating, you stay away from my son.”
Charlie ran after Neil as Todd watched, frozen. “Neil! Neil! Mr. Perry, come on.” Keating put a hand out to stop him. “Don't make it any worse than it is.” He murmured to the boy. Todd stared at Keating. It couldn’t be that bad.
“Todd? Todd.”
He groaned and rolled over. He mumbled something and tried to push his attacker off. “Charlie,” he muttered. He opened his bleary eyes and met Charlie’s tear-filled ones.
He sat up. “What is it?”
Charlie shifted, holding back tears.
“Neil's dead.”
The snow was cold against his legs. He looked up to the starlit sky, no sun to be found. Clouds covered the moon as he trudged down to the lake. He remembered him and his friend, just a week ago, laughing and practicing lines as they walked down the same dock he walked now.
“Oh, Neil,” he murmured. “I know you wouldn’t have left us.”
He sat at the edge of the dock and watched the melting lake, gazing at the stars.
In a world full of doctors, people want actors. In a world full of silence, he wanted his voice.
He was a poem in a world of music, a much quieter form of love. He was a word near the end of a verse, something you barely noticed the first time reading, but that changed everything if you took away one letter. He was a note forgotten in a drawer, pulled out years later during spring cleaning. He was a bird on a wire, destined to fly, with his wings half broken and his head held high.
He refused to live in a world without Neil, like a planet deprived of its orbit. He had no purpose, no right to keep living while his sun sat amongst the worms and his reputation cemented in a gravestone.
He ran his finger along the gun, studying the way it glinted in the starlight. Silver against white, metal against flesh. He raised it to his temple, the same way his friend did. He took a deep breath.
“Carpe diem.”
"But only in their dreams can men be truly free. 'Twas always thus, and always thus will be".
John Keating (Robin Williams), Dead Poets Society (1989)
can i request redson x reader o like the reader always acts dumb and just tells bad puns but once a demon tries to hurt them they beat the crap out of them how would redson react? have a good day
“Are we there yet?” You sighed loudly, your sneakers dragging along the steep dirt path. Redson was walking in front of you, holding a map of the hiking trail that apparently would lead to some kind of temple. You wished she would have just brought their fancy dirt bikes.
“No, not yet. Though if you keep complaining then maybe I’ll just go on my own.” He retorted. Their head turned to look at you over their shoulder, and you could see the empty threat he was making. Sure, Redson liked to talk down to you like they didn’t care, but you knew that she did. Especially when you scraped your ankle on a rock earlier and they took care to make sure you were alright.
“You wouldn’t leave me behind! It would be too much for you to bear!” You paused and pointed at a sign on the trail that warned of bears in a certain direction, not the one you two were headed however.
“Ugh. Just for that, I might.” Red groaned. They pinched the bridge of their nose. You laughed at your own joke—someone had to—and continued following them. The hike was coming to an end soon, you could tell. The path was more wide with some stones mixed in the dirt as if it were marked as the right way.
However, before either of you could continue the light conversation that made the walk a little faster, Redson was yanked up by one of her ankles to hang from a tree. They yelped and you quickly tried to find a way to get them down. A spider-like figure appeared, swinging from a rope and snatching the map from her.
“I’ll be taking that!” He laughed. You jumped as high as you could and grabbed onto one of his ankles.
“Give that back!”
He tried to shake you off, but in doing so he was distracted from where he was trying to go, so you both hit a different tree head on. It knocked the wind out of your lungs, but you still managed to grab the paper from him as you scrambled to get back to Redson. She had burnt the rope holding them, so now it was just a matter of losing this guy.
“That’s one of the Spider Queen’s henchmen! We need to get out of here!” They explained, grabbing your wrist and dragging you down a side path, away from the temple. You ran as fast as you could.
“Leaving so soon? Oh well, I do like a challenge!” The hunter hissed from somewhere behind you. Redson tripped a little, but you held them up and turned to face the spider. He was gaining on you. Looking around, you saw a large branch on the ground. Without really thinking about it you grabbed it and swung it at him, even making some stabbing motions. It drove him back but not by much. In a last ditch effort, you discarded the branch and leapt onto him, trying to implement any fighting moves that you’d seen Redson use. It was surprisingly effective, despite you not having fire at your disposal. Redson was still standing in the spot you left her in, but now she was cheering you on.
“Yes! Beat his ass! Go for the throat!!” They yelled. You grinned and kept going until you knew for certain that the spider was knocked out. Then you got off him, wiping your brow with your arm.
“I guess in the end, he was the fly caught in our web!” You threw some finger guns at your companion, however they only sighed and started walking past you to get on the right path again.
“Annnnd the moment is gone.”
“Hey! I won, right? I have the right to make a joke about it!”
