It was a cool evening so I dusted off the fire pit and opened a bottle of 2013 Edivo Plavac Mali from Croatia. ———————————————— This Edivo wine is made from grapes sourced from steep hillside vineyards on the Peljesac Peninsula, a few meters from the Adriatic Sea. This Plavac Mali is a classic representation of what we consider to be the "national" red grape, native to Croatia. ———————————————— Alcohol: 15.5% Tasting notes: In trademark Plavac Mali form, this wine explodes with fruit, red and black currant in particular, with a complement of cloves, cinnamon, sweet spices, cedar, and carob. This wine is juicy and ripe but balanced with mineral and earthiness.
