The idea on Cybertronians meeting a man-made version of their species had me think back to the second episode of Transformers Animated. How the Autobots mistook normal robots for civilians(and the humans as pets for a bit). It always wonder how they react to a sentient man-made machine or mechanical like entity?
Three examples crossed my mind about it. Classic Megaman from Megaman series, Knack from the Knack Series and Atom from Real Steel.
A sparring type fighter for Real Steel's robot boxing competition. Normally, one would think there are no examples in this franchise but you be wrong. Atom actually has some sentience amongst all the other fighters. He can think and respond in his own way.
There's one scene in the movie where his handler, Max, asked if Atom can understand him. Our dear sparring bot actually nods in response! This level of sentience allowed him to get back up after being knocked down despite the absolute punishment he takes from his larger more combat oriented opponents and earn the title 'The People's Champion'.
Most Cybertronians would honestly not bat an eye or think Atom is odd for a normal machine. Observant folks such as Optimus, Megatron and Soundwave are quick to notice the sparring bot is far from ordinary. There's something present inside Atom, the glimpses of a soul. Or an "alien" Spark.
It makes me think that Atom wouldn't turn malevolent if exposed to the Allspark in the Bayverse movie as he is sentient. Megs WILL target the robotic boxer from how close he is to a Cybertronian in form. Honestly be so funny that Bayverse Megatron approaches his newest creation only for Atom to sucker punch him and join the Autobots.
Doctor Vargas' greatest creation, a size changing mechanical entity made from peculiar artifacts called Relics. Knack actually has a soul which is located inside the golden orb in his chest. He can think, speak and feel things such as emotions to even pain. An example being his name.
Knack choose his name and states it after the first game's first tutorial. "Actually, I call myself Knack." His unique biology also makes him a force to be reckoned with. This stems from incorporating various material or energy into his body as Knack isn't limited to just relics. It allows our hero to change his size in the range of 2-32 ft! He can also change forms and gain unique abilities depending on the materials he gathers.
One such example is Ice Knack who can create claws of solid ice or let loose a frost breath to freeze his targets. There are also sunstones. Crystalized sunlight that Knack can channel to perform all sorts of super moves such as a shockwave, storm, blast, sword, barrier and even temporary invinciblity.
Between the three choices, he's most likely to be targeted by both parties in seconds no matter the Transformers iteration. Team Autobots would put Knack into their protection and might even baby him since he's essentially a Sparkling in age compared to them. (He will get them to stop the latter treatment as it feels awkward.)
Decepticons would go after Knack from how much he's capable of. An entity who can essentially get into any place and wreak mass destruction? Knack would be a huge boon to the Decepticon cause. (He infiltrated then pilot a tank and a giant robot while being the size of a toddler. Knack is a sneaky motherfucker.)
Personality wise, Knack is a kindhearted dork who has a tendency for mischief. He will easily click with younger or slightly eccentric bots such as Bumblebee and Wheeljack. Characters like Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus(minus Animated) to even softer Earthspark Megatron would definitely be protective that often teeters on parental.
Finally the blue bomber himself, Megaman!
At first, he looks like a normal kid w/o the suit. However Rock/Megaman is actually a robot who has been upgraded to fight opponents much larger and stronger than him. The standard abilities being superhuman strength, durability and his powerful hand cannon The MegaBuster.
Over time Megaman has gotten new abilities from scanning the Robot Masters to even special adaptors that allow him to merge with other robots! A small but extremely powerful fighter who has toppled armies of mechanical foes.
He's the least likely to be targeted as both factions would think Megaman is a child until proven otherwise. Once it's clear how powerful the Blue Bomber is, Autobots and Decepticons are gonna seek him out. The former since Megaman can literally change the tide of battle.
He would be put under protection but he's most likely to join the fight with permission quicker than Knack and Atom. Megaman has the most experience between all three so that factors in a lot. He's also better at defending himself.
For the Decepticons, it is definitely a split. Some want to recruit Megaman while the others want him destroyed. That kind of power shouldn't belong in Autobot servos.
Personality wise, Megaman is a kind good natured youth who prefers not to fight if he can. He's definitely a bean to nearly all the Autobots and maybe even a good chunk of Decepticons. I can imagine how many from the latter faction would defect because Megaman is willing to hear them out.
That's what I think anyway.
