I don't mean to sound rude or ignorant or anything, but what's wrong with autism speaks? I've never really heard of it.

you dont sound rude!! that’s fine if you dont know, i only learned this a few months ago.

autism speaks is an organization that supposedly supports those with autism but really is pretty much horrible in every way. their mission isnt to support those with autism and change society’s perception of autistic people, but to eliminate autism with genetics and stuff

this post here pretty much sums up why they’re not a good organization. im not as informed about this topic as i could be, but i do know that what they do is harmful and ableist.
