a lot of people say it’s alison but it’s not. it’s her bitchass mother. FIRST OF ALL, if she didn’t raise ali with that kill-or-be-killed, you’re either the best or you’re nothing mentality (and you know she did cause she actually TOLD her to strike back and defend her status in that one episode) then maybe alison wouldn’t have been so terrified and disgusted of being second place that she felt she had to protect her status at all cost (like, say, blinding jenna) (now i actually don’t think she did that on purpose, i think she wanted to intimidate jenna by lighting the shed on fire and she didn’t count on her actually being in it, but why did she feel the need to do that in the first place? because jenna stood up to her. alison recognized that jenna had potential which is why she invited her into her clique, so she could keep her at arm’s length. but jenna made it clear she wasn’t gonna be anyone’s minion and that made her a clear threat) and maybe she wouldn’t have thought she could do anything and lash out and bully people if someone actually told her that that wasn’t okay BESIDES said people.(someone she actually respected. like, say, her mother, at an early age? whose opinion she clearly valued, even if she didn’t let onto it) alison was never evil, she was a CHILD who needed to be DISCIPLINED. i’m not defending her here (ok maybe i am. just a little bit.) and i’m definitely not trying to defend her actions. but if she actually had proper discipline she probably wouldn’t have turned out like she did. (she wouldn’t have bullied mona, who in result, never would have become A, so ali wouldn’t have been threatened, and she wouldn’t have gone on her world tour, so cece would’ve hit the actual bethany, or no one at all.) (also bethany wouldn’t have even been there if jessica wasn’t slutting it up with her father..)
even if we ignore this, what do you mean your daughter gets knocked out cold right in front of you and you DON’T EVEN CHECK if she’s STILL ALIVE before LITERALLY BURYING HER??? HELLO??? i get that she was in shock but come on what the actual fuck was she thinking.
and don’t give me that ‘at least she loved her children’ crap. she totally could’ve gotten cece out of radley if she wanted to. she was literally on the board. she KNEW how bad she had it in there and the ali thing was pretty clearly an accident. (yeah yeah toby’s mother but she could’ve gotten her out WAAYY before that even happened) (+ that wasn’t even cece, she just didn’t believe her)
not to mention what she did and was going to do to mary. (for what reason, again?)
anyway i think alison and jason are just much better off without her. (remind me again when ali got that noticeable personality swap? became a better person? right, when she was on the run, spending considerable time without her mother’s influence. maybe started questioning her advice? yes, the actual shift happened while she was in prison but that’s when it started.)
OBVIOUSLY i’m not saying mr. dilaurentis is innocent here because he’s NOT. he also shouldn’t have accepted ali’s behavior but mrs. d was the one who actually encouraged it. (at least on screen) and the way he treated jason was just flat out disgusting, even if he wasn’t biologically his son. jessica being the town whore was NOT jason’s fault. plus, he’s a transphobic bastard! but in this case, at least to me, he’s the lesser evil. he was involved in less shit.
all in all, jessica dilaurentis is a manipulative, evil, selfish bitch and she can crawl back into whatever hole in hell where she came from.
