in the year 1858, mystic, california was founded by two sisters, henrietta and elizabeth. established as a human town, mystic was a bouncing small hamlet. it had the modern aspect of the pier and it's near perfect beautiful weather attracted tourists during all seasons. life for the mystic sisters was beyond charming and quaint. the girls were inseparable, owning a small hotel by the seafront. everything flipped for them when in 1861, henrietta fell in love with a non-human. there's speculation as to what precisely that non-human was, but no one knows the truth. for years they did not speak a word to each other, henrietta and her partner moving to the other side of the town and opening up a small restaurant that barely kept afloat. in 1865 elizabeth was bitten by a wolf. after a long and torturous night being held by henrietta as she first changed, the relationship between the sisters was once again strengthened. elizabeth was lucky in surviving the transformation, and together the two sisters began to privately fund organizations that helped non-humans around the state. during the film era, creatures began to make appearances in hollywood film in a negative light, and they were forced into the shadows. the united states of america offered them a safe relocation under a simple condition, they must never reveal their non-human identities. over time this relocation scenario backfired, and three cities became a safe haven for creatures. in these cities everyone who visits and inhabits knows there are creatures, they are simply not allowed to ask. nowadays, the government has changed its funding and scheme. it's a front truly, anyone could see they're really testing these cities out - watching how creatures interact with humans. they call this project estuary.

Update: Plot Release

Millennia ago gods and mythical creatures roamed the earth openly alongside humans. Various pantheons of deities had worshippers aplenty, and it was this worship that fueled their powers. Yet as time passed on even the gods became little more than myth in the human realm. The only things that kept them from being rendered powerless were the mythical creatures and their demi-god offspring that were forced into the shadows.

Millennia without the power they once held took its toll on the gods. Many began to question whether they were ever meant to last. Yet others believed that immortality meant time would return them to what they once were. And so a new effort to regain their power slowly started to spread among the pantheons. Gods and goddesses alike began to procreate with humans and mythological creatures, resulting in skyrocketing numbers of demi-gods to roam the earth.

These half-god offspring added to the powers of the various gods, but it wasn't until modern times when neo-paganism and other similar religions began to grow more popular that the gods saw a true surge in their powers for the first time in millennia. Now there are those who are just as devoted to them as their original peoples were. But there are also those who believe the gods to be out dated, and still others who would like to see them fall entirely.

As the gods work to build up the number of followers that they have more humans are finding themselves with rewards for their dedication than ever before. Their half-god offspring have become essential to their continued growth, and have gained higher status among their pantheons than ever before. If the demi-gods turn on them, they could quickly lose both their followers and their powers.

seattle has always been a place of great diversity. nestled between the rolling cascade mountains to the east and the chilly shores of the puget sound to the west, this little-big city has become a melting pot for all sorts of people over the years. in the waterfront condos and the top floors of tallest sky-scrapers live the elite, the wealthy and the blessed, unaware of the trials and tribulations of those below them. in neighborhoods scattered throughout the city are the modest working class, the families and young urban professionals who are most often grateful for what they have, though always striving for more. and all throughout the city, finding some semblance of comfort in cramped apartments, red cross shelters, or in the alleys that weave throughout the city are the unfortunate ones, the poor and the downtrodden, the kind that make their living in less-than-respectable ways. the emerald city brings all of these diverse people together into one place, forcing them into one another's lives. some would rather their paths never crossed; others wish they could banish the social stigma all together. though in every class, there are the good, there are the bad, there are the ugly; in every class, there are the righteous kind, and in every class, there are the crooked kind.

welcome to devil's reef, paradise by the shore. it was only a decade ago that the resort was built, changing the mood and tone of the little town, but a change that was eagerly welcomed by many of the townspeople. there seemed to be a major influx of tourists arriving to see the beautiful shoreline, emerald countryside, and of course the resort that had taken over the town. but with the different people staying at the resort, will problems arise? welcome to break your little heart.

“Come one, come all for a chance of a lifetime. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I present to you none other than the Keres and Kharon Brothers’ Circus—the Greatest Show in the Universe. Step right up, I assure you, you’ve never seen anything like this in your life…”

A second chance to live your life, a chance to correct mistakes or finish things left undone in life; a chance seemingly too good to be true, some would say. Yet on Death’s doorstep, some have chosen another route: a lifetime within the Keres and Kharon Brothers’ Circus. A freak show of sorts; of follies and vices and ill-timed demises. While some find solace and home within the traveling spectacle, one must remember that a deal with the Devil for eternal life hardly ever ends well and even spectators and laymen can tell you there’s something unnerving about the circus at night.

last month westeredge, louisiana was your regular everyday town, located just on the outskirts of new orleans. but just a month ago two students at lancaster university changed that. the small town with a population of a little over five hundred was a close knit community and when two students opened fire at the local university, killing twenty-four and injuring many more before turning their guns on themselves. the losses were huge and it turned the entire town upside down. you always say it will never happen to me. but that's what this small town thought at one point too.

the town is trying to recover after the deaths of so many loved ones. everyone was affected in one way or another and as much as they want to carry on and live their lives each and every citizen of westeredge will carry this event with them for the rest of their lives.
