DUDE i was watching the society of the blind eye and what if the memory machine had a tube and ford at some point decided to show stan those forty years of his life that are still a little uncertain in his mind? what if stanford had to watch all of stan's memories with him? seeing the hunger, fear, and most importantly the crushing loneliness that stan had to endure before the kids? god this scenario is killing me

I personally headcanon that when they were taking Stan back to the Shack (when it looked like the memory loss was permanent) Dipper remembered McGucket and suggested showing Stan the tube. 

Ford explained that if Stan’s memories had been stored there, Bill would be too and he’d be able to be freed again, so Ford set the gun to delete the memories permanently. There was no memory cylinder this time.

That’s how I rationalize it, anyway. I like the scenario you brought up though. Nice and evil.

I’ve come up with a nice and easy way to resolve the bit in Age of Ultron where Pietro insists he’s the older thing. It’s just the tail-end of a years-long running joke. The first time he was like, “I’m a whole minute older than you!” and she was like, “You are not.” Every time they had this argument again, it escalated, to two minutes, to five, and so on. Now they’re up to twelve and it’s funny! 

I mean, it becomes tragically unfunny a few minutes later, but it’s funny at the time.

Plot Spackle

As we all know, Susan states in An Unearthly Child that she "made up the name TARDIS from the initials: Time And Relative Dimensions In Space."

And as we also know, all other timelords the Doctor encounters also refer to their ships as Tardisi.

Finally, the Tardis has a translation circuit that makes everyone appear to be speaking and writing in English.

Therefore, I assume that Susan made up the English word for Tardis, and the translation put in the word "Tardis" every time a Timelord used the word for "dimensionally transcendental space-time ship" thereafter.

It's either that or she was actually a mechanic on Gallifriey at the time Tardises were invented; and seeing as we've established that the Doctor was not around at the time time travel was discovered and he considers Susan young, that's unlikely. Although the premise for this entire show is time travel.
