You’ve probably got, like, a ba-jillion fluffy bunnies jumping around the inside of that skull of yours, begging to be put down on paper and sorted into something that vaguely resembles a plot.
And maybe some of you’ve tried tons of different timeline methods- like sorting it out on sticky notes, except there’s not enough room for that anywhere, or doing it in a notebook or a document, except that’s too much freakin’ effort and there’s still not enough room- and what if you lose it? What if it gets destroyed? What if you spill hot chocolate all over it?
Well, I can’t stop you from spilling hot chocolate all over your laptop, but I can suggest that you check out Plotist. It’s this online site that offers you the ability to create neat, co-ordinated timelines with elements of your story. It’s not as good as, say, Aeon Timeline, but at least Plotist is FREE. If you want to make your stuff private, though, you gotta pay a monthly or annual subscription fee, but you do get a good long trial that before that. So long, in fact, that I didn’t even realise I was on a trial until just today when I was informed I had 19 days left. Thought I’d wasted my time making this post for a second there!
But, no, Plotist is free. You can even collaborate with other users on projects and export your stories and timelines! How cool is that? So even if you do want to keep your timeline all hush-hush (because we all have that fear of someone stealing our ideas, as dumb as that is), you can create it, export it and then delete it. All’s good!
You got this, scribbler!
