where Mike sacrifices himself to kill venca by burning the creel house along with venca and himself. He saves Will last minute by either pushing him out?? idk alright but basically the house explodes or something, like it burns down.

And Will is so distraught by this that his brain kinda blocks that memory of watching Mike smiling sadly at him as the house collapses and burns around him. So he like doesn't remember that happened.

He just thinks that Mike's missing, probably somewhere in the upside down.

Joyce and Johnathan are too scared to actually tell him the truth since the last time they did, he kinda broke down and idk maybe they think it would be better that way.

and Will is like so confused on why no one's trying to look for Mike. He tries to find his own clues, and he tries to ask nancy, but she's just completely distant. The party don't really know what to do at this, cause they're mourning and they just don't know what to do.

maybe this can start off as a story in Will's pov where he slowly learns that Mike is gone and learns to accept that and slowly unravel his memory, because he WAS there, he watched it happen.
