Another plunny about post-canon Uraichi. Inspired by Emperor's New Clothes by Jann.
Ichigo: Shun-jii proposed me to head the 8th division.
Urahara: Oh! Congratulations then. You seem too troubled, though~
Ichigo: Yeah, I need to choose an experienced officer as my second in command, because I barely know enough about Soul Society and Seireitei.
Fanart day, first is theStarFishFace's OC Lapis (she does many good things look her up) and Lina's OC Sophie for an art raffle on Bluesky
Househusband Kafka? AU
((Edit: added a title to this piece))
I’ve started watching Kaiju No. 8 and have a plunny idea
Househusband Kafka who is legally married to Mina. Those two can be romantically married or platonically married and have picked up all the signed of a happily married couple without realizing it. Aka, “Because this is my First Life” k-drama (even though I haven’t gotten too far into it and they are both working young adults)
Canon happens as normal…to the extent that Mina knows that Kafka can turn into a Kaiju, but thinks that it is a slow transformation happening to him. She has the idea that it is reversible and pushes Kafka to be seen by the Kaiju experts and doctors to get the transformation reversed. Even though Kafka already knows that it might be impossible to reverse this at all.
More thought out stuff below
I had @qwarq code a bestiary window for me because none of the existing plugins satisfied my needs. There's also a cookbook for Nathalia's recipes that follows the same layout.
In addition to seeing the stats and the money/exp reward for enemies, there's also flavor text for each one. Recipes have flavor text too.
The bestiary and cookbook have unique artwork for each entry, which I hope isn't going to bite me in the ass later...
Oh god, now I want to write an Orpheus/Eurydice style rescue, but it's WWX saving JZX
And them bickering all the way back, like:
"You killed me with your mad ghost general!"
"He's very sorry about that!"
"He's sorry? You're not?"
"I'm getting you out of here aren't I? What more do you want?"
Jin Zixun, in the distance: Hey! What about me? For god's sake, wait up!
Moodboard inspired by my Amortentia Series [that it only exists in, well... my head...? lol sorry folks]
So, yes, here is yet another moodboard that has been inspired by other elements about my Amortentia Series. So here's some context for what is happening above because,—as I seem to do constantly, I am saving the good stuff for last.
+ Plunny Giveaway:
Malfoy runs an apothecary, while Hermione is a professor at Hogwarts.
The Ministry of Magic adopted the Marriage Law in order to strengthen actual magical bonds, which had the extra effect of increasing the number of healthy and magical babies in the Wizard World.
After considerable thought and monthly trips to the apothecary store over the years, Hermione decides to choose her own destiny, which includes her own husband, after confronted with this new Magical Law.
For years, she has been powerless, intrigued by this new and oddly quiet Malfoy, proprietor of this small yet exotic shop — who, despite frequently catching him glancing at her, had never spoken a nasty word to her or attempted to be even impolite towards her once their school days were over.
In fact, even so many years after the war, and despite being a redeemable if still reviled member of the Wizard Society, Draco always seemed puzzled whenever Hermione knocked on his bell door for more ingredients for her monthly Potions Class, as if Draco expected Hermione to chose to go somewhere else rather than to his shop.
But how could she when he always seemed to pay special attention to her most often used potions and add just a little bit extra of the ingredients she needed most but sometimes just forgot to order more of?
The way he delivered her order to the castle, and how he secretly added new ingredients to her order with brief "on the house" note after sensing her curiosity to experiment the new ingredients from his shop on her potions…? And when she didn't like the ones she bought, he never charged her for them…?
Hermione didn't know why he was doing all of that for her, but she was eager to finding out.
When he did it the first time, and she Flooed to his shop furiously, demanding an explanation of him—wondering whether he was doing it out of lingering remorse for her, in some attempt to gain her forgiveness... Yet her rage only caused this new Draco, as he desperately tried to explain to her and accidentally break a few potion bottles in his path as he vehemently denied everything.
Or when he once said that the way she looked at some of the herbs and Potions on his shop's shelves reminded him of his godfather's devotion to his beloved Potions, and her heart unavoidably skipped a beat…
Or how, for the first time since that day, Hermione became truly conscious of the man behind that balcony shop. And how she tried, for the first time, to reconcile her memories of his younger self to the man in front of her.
Or how, after that first misunderstanding, he was far too shy to initiate a conversation with her, tripping over words and even struggling to wrap her items while trying to answer some of her questions.
And by all the gods... That was something she found terribly charming in him for some inexplicable reason...!
Hermione was observant enough to notice that while interacting with every other customer Draco seemed extremely competent, but when it came to her—he appeared to suddenly lose all of his social skills.
She had to be honest with herself and confess that, after sometime, —she had grown to find it quite endearing to witness her former classmate stumble like that in front of her.
Most probably she was losing her mind and was being enthralled by a mystery that she had no business being captivated by. But she didn't know why she felt so undeniably attracted to him, but Hermione was determined to give it a shot regardless of how absurd it might sound.
Her heart urged her to act, to be heard, for the first time ever, and she was incredibly determined to comply with it and the mystery that surrounded that small apothecary shop and its silent proprietor.
So when the Wizengamot's bachelor list was made public, Hermione used her never-before-used war heroine privileges to request a special favor—and then the new Minister of Magic officially informed Draco Malfoy of his new future wife.
However, they had no idea that after their marriage ceremony, their new magical bond would open a tridimensional portal in the centre of the apothecary shop in front of them,—which they would have to cross in order to understand that nothing in this life happens by by accident.
And, after all these years of apparent disdain for her, perhaps Hermione will learn the real reason behind Malfoy's silence.
This is a story of two people who shares a love for Potions and their affection by the memory of a friend who has long since passed away. Nothing that shines appears to be gold. And as people are constantly learning and growing from the mistakes they made—perhaps the answers to their questions can be found in their past, which will allow them to unlock the door to their own future.
Ardyn’s Kingship and Somnus’ Rulership: an Exploration of FFXV Lore and Etymology
This was not the meta I expected to be dishing out today but here we are. Buckle in folks, this might not be what canon intended, but it is indeed what just exploded from my brain.
(If it’s not clear or you have questions, please come ask me!)
FACT: Aera tells Somnus that Ardyn was to be king
FACT: Ifrit provides the same information to Ardyn
FACT: The Crystal rejects Ardyn as the one who is to be the Founder King of Lucis
Bad storytelling, or is there something more here? A common theory -one I’ve worked with myself- is that the Six are not in fact omniscient and chose Ardyn as their king without consulting the Spirit of Eos, represented by the Crystal, which either chose Somnus from the start or rejected Ardyn because of his corruption by the Starscourge and then chose Somnus as the next best thing. I tend to believe it chose Somnus from the start, because Ardyn gained that taint doing what he was supposed to be doing - curing people.
So, it could be that simple, Ardyn was the Astral’s Chosen, Somnus was Eos’ - but I would like to propose something different, and it hinges around three more facts.
FACT: Aera and Ardyn were engaged to be wed
FACT: Ardyn is Somnus’ older brother
FACT: The word “King” has some very interesting etymology
Let’s get nerdy, folks.
