Let me do a little rant real quick..

It needs to be said, stop casting lighter skinned actors or biracial characters as darker skin or fully black women. It is already harder for darker skinned black women in the industry already. I was just watching a few people do a recast for the Winx Club series and they put Zendaya as Aisha/Layla for two separate vids. We have so many more diverse actors that could fit the role. I'm gonna need y'all to stop pretending she is the only option for a black female character. Like I love her to death, but let's broaden the horizons.

Gonna get this off my chest. Asian Lives Matter, Latino lives matter, indigenous lives matter and I will always stand with my fellow POCs. But what I find really annoying is that whenever a tragedy happens to another community, the blame always stems back to black people and is individually placed on us. Now before I proceed let me make this clear, I am not defending the actions of anyone who commits violence against any POC whatsoever. But it gets frustrating that mostly white people will point fingers at African-Americans whenever a hate crime is done to other POCs, and be upset that black people are not being called out for their hatred. I need you guys to understand one thing this bigotry, racism and hatred amongst minorities is the goal of white supremacy. They want to divide and conquer, they want blacks, hispanics, asians and other to fight amongst ourselves. In reality, we are all fighting the same enemy, white supremacy. No one is upset at white people but rather the system that is set in place that lets individual with certain privileges get away these acts or commit them in the first place.

Time to get a bit controversial. The way right wing media will immediately attack successful POC for speaking their mind on issues in their community is sad yet horrifying. These are same people that complain about cancel culture when it came to Trump or any other Republican for 4 years inciting violence, but people like Lebron James and the president are a issue? I'm not even Democrat, but the hypocrisy must be pointed out. To be frank, they are mad about a Derek Chauvin trial results and it felt like LeBron was their outlet to vent that anger. All have to say all the racists and right wingers came out to play last night.

How are conservatives being censored when I see them flooding my homepage ad space on YouTube? And no 'Stop seeing this ad.' or blocking the channel does not help.

I love me a good Black Girl Magic TikTok Compilation but would it kill for a bit more body diversity. Cause all the woman are most tall thin and curvy in these comps. And then meanwhile there's me short and chubby.

One thing that pissed me off with the reboot is that I felt that Aisha was the stereotypical black best friend or mammy trope who's life revolved around Bloom and her problems, she felt she was nothing more than a token therapist to Bloom. Despite how rude and bratty Bloom was to her, she stayed with her. As a black women, I'm tired of that same stereotype in literally every form of American media.

Don't get me started on Terra. Yes, there's no problem with a plus size woman. But she could have been Latina AND plus sized. It does not make sense to me replace one kind of representation with another in this instance. Like it still does not dismiss the fact they made her white.

I just wanted a reboot that did not take itself seriously. Something that fully embrace the true whimsicalness and wonder of the original.
