The setup in TPM before the boonta eve race has you go 'oh god. Anakin never even finished a race?? Oh, we're fucked. Why did we trust the 9 year old with this.' and then by the end of the race Anakin wins which is HUGE of course. But also. The winner was the only one who finished the race and that was not remarked upon at all. Like, that's normal. At least half the contestants are dead and all of the pods are trashed. I see why 'Anakin didn't horribly destroy his own body & the pod in the race' is such a big deal now. Thank you.
